Why use flex? Route it right to the down pipe and make it look nice;)

Yes, but if you ever switch chargers and the turbine outlet is different, your stuck welding up a new downpipe. With the flex
You can get all sorts of people pointing at the 2" exhaust pipe discharge under the truck and saying "that will never work"
Swap chargers without having to reweld the downpipe
Have oodles of people coming up after the pull asking you what was that exhaust leak under the truck for!

Yeah, took me a whole half hour to make everything fit again after I swapped housings on that charger. I guess I don't get into the sledpuller logic of "that will never work" Us dragracers have it all figured out:hehe: :hehe:

I just hate flex pipe...the only time I use it, I try to keep it short, and hide it as best as possible. Not to mention it leaks after a while!

Chris:p

Hey brandon just make a mini 2 inch flex pipe hood stack! LOL I would pay to see that

I think Brandon talked about that once. We were afraid run into rule issues as for the baby hood stack!

Run it out the fender, then straight up...no rule against that is there??

Chris

I think some rules read exhaust must exit rear of cab. I just use about an 18" piece of flex, then run a 2' piece of solid, with a fancy 2" turn down tip!

As Dan said I want to chrome a tip for the mini hoodstack but it is better just to route it under the truck and not test any rules.....

Sounds about what I will do, did u use anything to attach it to the exhaust or frame?

Like was said chris I just dont want to cut and weld on this purty downpipe and it would be good to have it vent to atmosphere incase I dont catch a problem via a gauge I will here about it in the pit! "Man that thing has a massive exhaust leak!".

I wanted to use baling wire, but couldn't find a piece rusty enough. So I used an exhaust clamp with a rubber exhaust hanger to support/clamp the turn out. I can get pics, it wasn't anything fancy(as you can imagine) but it is functional!

Brandon where I run it out, is right near a cab mount. There was something I tied into there. I think there was a hole already there and used a large washer to work.

Thank ya sir! I might just use some strap steel and band it to my exhaust and have the turnout face kinda down and out....
Brandon

Yea that is what mine does, kind of down and out. You could probably find a chrome one!

So far it's pretty simple, put my foot down with a little care and hold on! This charger makes the truck pull way harder and is showing more boost then the t66!!!

Hmmmmmmm.....

I find this concept strange.....
You can spool a charger thats bigger with a simple smash of the loud pedal.

Somehow this does not even come close to making sense to me....Andy

First passes on the charger resulted in a best of 12.06 at 110.6x mph. Not bad for a slight head wind on only 1.74 60'. Still some things I want to try to get this combination to work and waiting on Chris to get back to me on ideas at getting the charger lit faster on the line. Just shy of 60 psi boost and 64 drive. Cleans up the fuel nice too when lit. Have a higher pressure spring to go in my AD, will see if the 215 pump works better with more pressure. Going to make sure timing didn't slip either. May try some 181s back in to see what they do to boost.

All in all ED has the best customer service i've ever come across. Chris has been terrific big thanks to him:Cheer:

A big step in the right direction but many more to take!

Vids up in a few minutes.

Also, just want to add and point out that this is a .9 tenth/6mph improvement over my previous times with the t66. Part of it was the 1/10th reduction in 60' though and maybe some the weather as it was 55 or so when making these runs vs. 65 or so when making runs with t66.

NickTF- could you please PM me your setup? My truck is currently at ED and getting some stuff done by them. Im just looking for some ideas.
