sigma pump

I'll give you a piece of advice I once got after meeting an extremely hot women who knew just about everything on these trucks... "Pick your jaw up and bbbreeeeaaaattttthhhhh....":hehe:

I will never forget the first time I held a blank billet housing. I about flung it through the ceiling tile because I was expecting something a bit heavier. ;)

Thanks Brandon, I guess I better add this to the Christamas list :)

So at what point would a guy need one of these pumps to compete?

i think the prostock tractors and i know the superstock tractors run these...along with two or three turbos and only god and they know whats done to the engines...

edit: sorry, i was thinking tractors...i think the only ones running these are the trucks like scheid, haisley, and "how do like me now?"...so i guess the superstock class?

WRONG!

DHRA Super Street and Mod class both run sigma pumps or the Scheid 12 cylinder pumps

I was once told(by a very smart pump dude) that simply bolting on a sigma pump added 100hp on a prostock tractor with no other mods, and it probably takes another 50 hp to drive it...lol

I also have been told the 12 cylinder pumps don't perform as good as the sigma's

I beleive they meant at what level do you need a billit sigma pump, witch is in no level in diesel trucks YET

Need = WANT and if you want to be on top in the mod class you better have a sigma or 12 cyl pump I am pretty sure NO one is running without one!!!

Super Street you could "get by" without one if all other things are set up right. and still compete not sure you could win

are ANY of the diesel truck guys running the billet housing "sigma pumps" or are they just running the true sigma housing pumps?

there is a huge difference between a true sigma and a billet "sigma" (im using quotes because the billet pumps are not true sigma) and the difference is not just fuel flow, but the price of a billet "sigma" can double the price of a sigma...

I am not runing a sigma pump, and to the best of my knowledge Chris wasn't last year when he took the DHRA Championship.

So is really needed yet, even in the Mod class ?

"How do you like me know" Was the last truck I knew of that wasn't running either the 12cyl or Sigma in teh mod class. That has now been changed..... if you want to run with them, its coming to a point where you need it and I think next season is only going to prove that more seeing that the guys are trying stuff at the end of this season to push the trucks even further to the limit.

Who knows, maybe they will find their way into drag racing in the near future. Gale Banks couldn't clean up that smoke or compete with that power!:st:

You only gain 100hp by throwing on a full billet sigma with no other mods? I thought they flowed ungodly amounts of fuel? I would have guessed 225-325 for just bolting it on.

No thats what you get with a monster vp44.

No one that I know of in DHRA is running a 'billet' pump. There's really no need for it. The sigma has 16mm plungers and barrels and it is plenty sufficent for even mod class. It will fuel to over 8000rpm.

your set-up would make a huge difference in power gains...more fuel isn't always a good thing...i'd say if you had the turbo(s) and head to flow the air a sigma bolted on compared to a built P or 12 cylinder pump would make a lot more than a 100hp difference...

From what I understand there might be one, even 2 that have been testing or will be switching for next season.
