Got it all plugged in and seen how it does without timing on both Smarty and TST. But how will it do with Timing on Smarty?

I have:
  • Smarty TNT/r
  • Edge EZ
  • TST 49

Setting right now on Smarty are CaTcher #9, Timing 1, RP 1, TQ 1, Wastegate Off.

Edge EZ on 2(EZ does not add timing)

TST 49, I got Timing on Auto and running Torque Management 1. As for tune, it has TT 03 and TT 05. I am running TT 03.

I tried TST on level 5 and it pegged the EGT gauge at 80 psi. PEAK BOOST 87 psi  . I then tried TST on 9 and it blew the intercooler boot right off the turbo side. I will have Erick Brown tune the truck in since he is a Programming Guru.

But as of right now, should I run some timing on Smarty or leave both programmers without timing? I know on Smarty TNT Timing # 1 is stock timing.

The only reason I am running a TST is because the ECM wouldn't load more than 55%.

On the side note. I am not using the Rail Pressure from the TST. The EZ is controlling the RP.

be carefull with that TST junk, cant tell you how many people loose a cylinder or 2 using that...im sure you know this already, i see you posting all the time.ive been running the smarty timing for 2 years now.i keep it on 3 all the time..tnt-r.:Cheer:

when i run the tst on mine i run it with no timing and the smarty on timing 3 sw9 rp2 tq3 and the tst on 2/0 with pressure from my power puck.

Be very careful with that TST, that 9 crap is bad bad juju.

I have done extensive tuning and testing with the Smarty/TST stack and it seems every truck reacts a bit different and also depends on the TST tune.

But to be the most careful put Smarty on less then stock timming, run TST on somewhere in the nieghborhood of 3 on fuel and max of 2 on timming. I have seen as much as 300hp gain with a TST on a 03 engine over just a Smarty.

I got the TST installed but haven't messed with it since yesterday.I am too scared to even turn it to level 1.This thing is a beast with it I bet.But I don't want to try it.

I will be putting my water/meth kit back on my truck and then see she runs with TST.Actually,I will have Erick Brown tune it on the dyno.

Where should I shoot the Water/Meth through?I've heard people shooting it through the cold pipe and manifold.I got 62/65/13 with 480.Might put a external gate as well sometime soon when $ allows for it.

Here are my mods, so what should I change or how should I tune the truck?

  • 62/65/13 with 480
  • Flux 3's
  • Wicked Stage 3 pump
  • Smarty TNT/r(POD) / Edge EZ/ TST 49
  • Walbro 392 lift pump with 2 micron setup
  • ARP 625's and Hamilton Springs

External gate would be in order I would think with that tiny top charger.

May not make much more power with flux 3's, you about have those tapped out I would think.

I woudl start your tune at Smarty level 7 no timming no rail pressure and TST on 3/0 and work it from there, but I bet Erik has a good idea where to start.

Oh and do not run meth, water only if you want your pistons to stay healthy.

I am trying to see if someone wants a towing setup. Since my setup spools pretty fast. I want to put a 64/480 setup now.Erick recommended the external gate to me, so I will end up doing one soon. Will call Chris @ E.D and see what he says.

Is that all the Flux 3's will put out 653? I will be running just water on my setup.

SO, is the TST the answer now for ECM's not fueling ?

I think I had an ecm issue with my truck and the power loss issue before the coolant in oil issue.....Is adding the TST the only way to fix this calculated load issue for an 05??

Soon as I get my truck back up and running and it still isn't fueling like it used to, is adding a TST gonna fix this??

I hope so!!! Now just need to find a TST for cheap....

Sorry to hear about The Interceptor, Swole. I think the 03-04 trucks were the ones with the ECM load problem. I only see 55% load on my ECM and made 653 with a stage 3 Wicked Pump.

You can find TST's for cheap all day long. The only thing is tuning them properly that kills some of our motors.

I have never seen a Load % issue with a 05 that wasnt throwin some kind of hard code. Still doesnt mean your ecm isnt playin tricks cause I think they all like to kick us in the nuts and watch us cry.

LOL

Yeah, My truck has kicked me in the Nutz ALL year long with several issues!!!

Well like I said I'll have to get it back up and running to see where my real problem is...

May snag a TST in the future to try...

Should I get a custom water kit or should I just use a Devil Owns or some sort of kit?I don't want to spend more than $550 for a water/meth kit.I make 75psi without TST,so what should keep up with that airflow.

I will run 2 or 3 nozzels and have 1 shoot threw intercooler pipe on drivers side.

Anybody shoot water through the cold pipe?

Really, if you don't mid sharing how many 05's have you tested or scanned?
I have a difficult time getting my hands on a scan tool for the this kind of data.

Just the ones here at the shop. One was in my truck and it always went past 100% where I could throw all the 03 electronics on it and only have 68%. I guess there could be some out there that dont go up in load % but none that I have thrown a scanner on.

So when I get my up and running, My buddy at Dodge can use his DRB scanner to check my load %??? Should this be done on the street or Dyno for most accurate numbers....

Are you seeing partial load through the entire rpm band or is it at a certain rpm?
