What are the options for the 47RH & 47RE? I know of one standalone controller from ATS which is made by another company.

What features do you look for in a standalone transmission controller?

Brandon,

It is also a very powerful Data logger and can also be used to control any imaginable fuction!!

I got one and utilize the manual shift mode with the cruize control buttons when pulling...kind of like paddle shifters...ATS only makes the electronic version valvebody to be used with the TCU. This thing is awesome and you can tune on the fly..

Whats one of those bad boys run? Sounds sweet. :rockwoot:

The ATS controller is very expensive...Ive look into this since I was told I needed it to control my trans. But I think Richard know the lucky wires to tap into and add the relay

suncoast makes one, prologic i think it is, the race version controls 4th gear along with lock up for the 47RH.

850.00 and it is complete with the harness and you need the ATS Valvebody from them if you are running the Dodge tranny. I am runnng my 4R100 behind my 12v

Why arent you going manual valve body Brandon?

I am running a manual VB. Once I figured out how easy it was to make a OD/Lockup controller for mine, I figured I may as well add in PWM control for the governor pressure and sell it as a programmable 47RH/RE controller for much cheaper than $850.

Sorry for the poor quality cell phone pics.

Video of the controller in action on the bench. The speed sensor is being spun by hand which makes it hard to keep steady. It accepts settings for OD speed, lockup speed and a hysteresis value. In the video, the lockup speed is 7mph and the OD speed is 15 with a hysteresis of 3mph. When 7mph is reached, the controller sends the lockup signal. The speed drops to 5 or 6mph and the transmission is still locked because it's over 4mph (7-3) threshold. When OD speed is reached it does the same thing, unlocking at 12mph, but not 14mph on the way back up.

Hey that's awesome, Lyn and I both want to run one. You have what it takes to put it in a truck yet Brandon?

Mines fine, I just want the adjust ability that comes with it, but Lyns truck goes into overdrive and lockup at 36mph and its way to soon and he'll kill his converter if he doesn't do something.

But Lady's first, so you can have the first one LOL
