Straight pipe with 64/71/14 anyone?

My experience with my 5" Expandit straight pipe- people either love it or hate it. One of my buddies would call me everytime i drove past his house tellin me to shut that fawkin thing up.

He always wondered how i could stand it until i let him drive it, its not that bad in the cab. I dont mind it on the insterstate, you do have to speak up a little more, but its tolerable. Mines a ex cab longbed so the pipe is farther away from the front seat then other configurations, not sure if that makes a difference.

Ive drove many many many 6 to 8 hour daily trips with it. Ive had the truck for under 5 months now and put 7,000 miles on it already... and my job is only 3.5 miles away.

Put a straight on it, if you dont like it put a muffler on it. That simple.

I wonder if your exhaust brake does any extra muffling or changes the tone at all?

Since different turbine wheels and housings can affect the sound, I'm sure that putting a flap in the center of the exhaust might affect it too. Might be the reason it sounds the same straight as with that Summit packed muffler. Just my $.02

Possibly, but I honestly noticed no difference in sound at all in low rpms. Above 3500rpm, it is a little louder, but still nowhere near as loud as my brothers.
