Gene mentioned this in another post. Street class with a claimer rule on the turbo. Most everyone can agree that the turbo is what make the difference between classes and power. :rules:

Let's hear it.

Any single class sounds like a winner to me.

Put some restrictions on it. Say claiming person must be in top 5% or something.

Why stop at the charger? Some of us around here have been talking about having a class like that with the whole truck up for claim.

Sounds great, trade my 12V for the guy with the 30K in his Dmax engine!

Need to keep the bounty within reason or no one will put up the money to protest. Single charger 2.6 with a $500-$750 claimer. I'm not familiar enough with charger prices but it's an idea.

It might get some people into the market, but your vendors/suppliers won't like it. It will kill the custom parts market. It really should probably be used in the workstock class. It would keep that class level. Possibly the 2.6 class, but realistically the workstock class should be the one where the claimer rule works.

What you have to watch out for is the guy that just comes and competes and wants a new charger. In the 2.6/2.8 class you will severely limit the HP on that class, probably make the 3.0 class grow by leaps and bounds. Instead of a claimer rule you could almost go to a specific charger for the class, because essentially that is what you are doing. If the claimer rule is $500 protest, your pretty much only gonna have people putting $500 into the charger.

2.6 chargers can be had cheap. A factory DMax charger might be out of the question? There again I don't know charger prices.

AHH??? Im not following? It may be because im :bang So with this rule if i was winning every pull in the 2.6 class someone could claim my turbo for $500 and i would get their turbo and they would take mine???

Yup, you might not even end up with theirs. The idea is to keep the turbo field level.

So i would have to give up my $2000 turbo? Then have to replace it? For $500???

This claimer rule sounds like something a democrat would come up with LOL. It doesnt sound like a very good idea to me. Just because a turbo works good on one truck doesnt mean that it will work good on another. Plus why punish a guy just because he is winning a lot? As long as he's not breaking any rules I say let him keep running.

Yep. That is the idea, it will discourage people from running $2000 chargers in a $1000 claimer class. It could work, just people better understand the rules. It will make the class be based more off of truck setup, rather than who just throws the most money at it. Like I said in the workstock class, and possibly the 2.6 it could work. Those are the entry level classes, and it will keep them under wraps. I think it could have its place, shouldn't allow the guy in last place to claim the charger though. Probably just should say that the claiming person ups say $1200 and gets the winners charger. Then said winner could go buy another charger for the $1200. $1200 should buy a great charger in the 2.6 class.

Well theirs really nothing special about mine other than its just a silver bullet! But its still $2000! I like the rule but their will be people try to compete just to get a new charger for cheap! Now i say their should be something as a swap rule! Where for a certain amount of money you could run the other person charger for the next pull!
