Street class with a claimer rule?

GZZZ put a 500$ claim on anything thats illegal charger or what not then if he fails he pays 500$ to the one who claims, I like to see someone take my turbo

I thought fruitloops were only in my hometown:hehe:

Well you are from KY. Evidently you don't understand the claimer rules. It isn't a protest fee. It is a claimer class. Read the posts, it is basically one step away from a model number specific charger class. It allows people some flexibility to run different chargers based on setups, but keeps the field more turbocharger level. You probably wouldn't have to worry about it unless your in first place anyway. I mean it won't be something that is out of the blue I am sure, the rules will be explained. If you can't abide by them then don't pull.

LOL! Fun discussion!

I think you would have to find an average cost of the popular chargers in a class. Example, say off the shelf turbos are running between 1500-2000. Set a claimer price at 1750.

The idea is, it would stop the guys from taking the 2000 turbo and making it a 5000 turbo.

Stock car racing was famous for a$500 ENGINE claimer races. It keeps someone from getting into things as much.

It would defiantly be something the majority of the class would want, I would never just implement it.

I know some trucks that have way less than $1500 on the chargers and run darn good.

I mean $2000 plus is if you buy a charger form Scheid.

I think its a great idea. As menetioned, stock car circle track racers have claimer rules. I think you guys need to understand completely how the rule would work before disowning it. This type of rule is put in place to keep the guy with the biggest wallet from winning every pull. Say one guy does have some 5k crazy charger and is winning all the time you could put up whatever the claimer amount is and get his charger. Now he is not gonna wanna buy a 5k charger every pull to beat everyone if they are gonna claim it. He is going to get a cheaper charger. This rule would keep the class from being the guy with the most money wins.

Actually a custom built scheid charger would run you about $1800 for the 2.6 class! Well that was a few months ago 2!

No way this would fly

Depends on who is voting. It could definitely have its place, especially in the lower classes. I was thinking $1250 would be a good claimer price. That way if some one liked over paying for a charger, they still could!:hehe:

In the 2.8 class I say no, and if there is a class below the 2.6 then that should be the claimer class. The claimer class should be in the entry level class. After that it is a performance class!

Defiantly would level the playing field but like said before no way this would fly. The guy that has all that money in his turbo if somebody pulled this claimer thing out he would probably just pack up his stuff and leave.

That's what the rule is for. You know up front what consequences are. If you choose to gamble you may lose.

After he handed over his charger! A rule is a rule. I mean a guy should know don't bring a $2k charger to a $1250 claimer class, unless the purse is $800 for first place!

Pretty obvious who has more than $1250 in their chargers.
