Street class with a claimer rule?

But what stops some guy with a stocker truck that just wants to come in there and get a good turbo for his stock truck. So throws up 1250 dollars and walah he has a nice turbo. Have to be sum sorta regualtion on this rule somehow. It's an awesome idea just gonna be hard to regualte and inforce IMO.

The key is you better not be willing to lose more than the difference in your charger, and the claimer price, or your charger better be less than the claimer price to replace.

Say you run a $1200 charger, some guy wants a charger, comes in and lays down $1250, you get his $1250, and you give him a $1200 charger. You take $1200and go buy the exact same charger, put the $50 in your pocket!

Well looks like the price of turbos has went up since I bought one. The Silver Bullet is now selling for around 2,000. Might need to up the anti a little bit. So what organaztion would run this rule? Starting to think it might not be such a bad idea?

There would be stipulations. Lets say: 1 you have to be in the top 10 to file a claim. 2 you have to attend atleast two points pulls. And you could go on. The idea is to not make it too easy for someone to lose a turbo. But! Understand that if you show up with a $5k turbo you may lose it.

hmmmm this is interesting for sure... i know that the claimer rule works very very well in dirt track racing.... BUT not a whole lot of people own an IMCA car that they can just show up one day with. from what i have seen this does not happen very often, maybe once a year. I personally think it is a great idea for all of the sled pull classes except for super modified. for one it evens out the playing field so that one guy that has alot of money doesnt win all year, two it makes things more interesting, seen a few very very bitter arguements on a dirt track:hehe: but in racing their vehicles are usually a little dented if they make many enemies LOLLOLLOL

Some people say it will not work. It's not sponsor friendly. The only thing taken away from a possible sponsor input is the turbo. So lets extend the market input to a tire manufacturer. What if you get someone like Interco, Superswamper to step up as a sponsor. They could add extra contingency money if you run their Truxus STS tires.

I think this could open a class up to more sponsors, better competition and more trucks.

I think it sounds like a hell of a good idea, and I have to agree there would have to be stipulations, and it could also make for some pretty interesting competition. On the flip side it could be very humorous for the guy who get his turbo "claimed" by a guy that is only losing by a couple of feet to come and still stomp that same guy by a larger distance because he doesn't have the mods to support the charger. Humility is the mother of all Humor.

LOL

I dunno it seems like it could work out nicely if governed properly, and I guess im the only 6.4 on here but 1.2k isn't gonna cover twin turbos for me. I mean unfortantly your not gonna be able to run the 6.4 turbos unless your immediatly going SS.

The Ford guys would crack up watching the Dodge and Chevys claiming each others turbos.

Nice motive, MECH.

Think about it. I think it would make a good class. LOL My turbo's too big for those guys. :ft:

I like the idea Kevin, but I would get a good laugh if someone bought my turbo. Mine is a custom fit turbo, it is a 2nd gen S300 with a 3rd gen outlet. It would be an extra $400 for the buyer to order a 2nd gen exhaust housing to make it useable. I would have to do the same if I wanted to use thiers.

It opens the door for a whole new class of claimer chargers. Seeing how much performance you can build into that specific dollar amount.

Do you only get to claim the individual event winners or can you claim the points leader as well? Anyone in the top5? Who qualifies?

I say you can claim their haul rig turbo too. Or even if a trucks parked outside the fence- you see a turbo you want, claim it!:hehe:

Hmm, claimer at TS. I am gonna nitrous my junk too the moon. Trade my little truck on a wicked 3.0 truck.

A claim can be made by a puller that placed in the top ten against anyone that placed in the top ten. The claim can only be made after both parties have completed the event.

Jamie you make a good point. It's not cheap to put a claim on someones turbo so it may or may not happen. Can you replace it for the amount they put up? There are risks on both sides.
