street single? how big?

Aside from the turbo talk, I think it would be a good idea to hook up a fuel pressure gauge if you haven't done so already.

I've read about some guys having an air dog, or fass, etc, and still weren't getting the power they want. They hooked up a fp gauge and were able to determine they had a clogged fuel filter or their ofv was worn out or had a broken spring in it. I just hooked an electronic one up in my truck a couple weeks ago and bought a new ofv and am going to perform the bic pen spring mod sometime this weekend to fix my low fp problem.

Might save you some head scratching down the road.

Just a suggestion but you might look at giving this a try instead of buying a new OFV.

Yeah, the hx40 is 4" or so. So you're only shaving an 1/8th inch around it.

thats one thing i really need to do, right now im in the process of rebuilding my dash and im replacing all the gauges with autometer's, that will be mounted in a nice piece of aluminum. I wouldnt imagine if my ofv is worn out and i would like to do as what you were saying as well. And purchase an airdog, money is just tight and im trying to spend it on what the truck really needs before i get to excited and purchase stuff i shouldnt yet! But i will just hook one up to see what im running at, thanks for the post! another thing ill have to do!

Flatlander.

Thought about it, but found a guy in my area that was getting rid of the bosch one for dirt cheap, and it was cheaper than the tork tek one if you can believe that. Sold his truck and had it laying around with no use for it. I did buy tork's fp gauge snubber though.

Nice piece I must say.

awsome, would like to hear about the results! i think im leaning towards going with a 66 and if it is a bit more smokey around town, just gives me more afc tuning to do!

I didn't end up bumping timing to 24. It was at 21.5 and the previous owner said it was at 20 so I just left it at 21.5 until it gets warmer.

AFC tuning felt like it made the most difference in town driving. Cut smoke down at lower rpms, spools a hair faster, and drives much smoother all the way around. Butt dyno felt like it pulls harder and doesn't top 1400 degrees. There are still a few things I might try but that won't be til it gets warmer.

Iam in the process of installing a 67/71/16 hx52 in my DD so I will have some more info in the next few days as far as drive-ability etc.

Fighting with making a nice clean down pipe now, dont wanna cut the 90* I got wrong so im trying to make a template and incorporate the 4" flange for the vband clamp

i will be trying out a 72/76/16 on my truck here in the next few weeks... plans are street use with drag use... i will let ya know how streetable it is... but a manual vb auto is going to help

That HX52 come off a Volvo diesel then? Says Volvo on the compressor cover. Just curious.

The stock line won't fit it? A hose shop can make you one or I can. Also, is the clamp on that intercooler boot coming off the turbo tight in the picture?
