Super Stock rules 2012 Suggestions

Shouldn't there be a smoke limit to get in? I thinking, One must be able to black out the entire walmart parking lot to enter

You must have Tiger Blood and live with porn stars to enter? WINNING!!!

Michael, does that mean you have to bang 7 gram rocks in the staging lanes too?

WINNING!

Can I have your attention please, just for a moment.

We're trying to do the European emissions tests here. First step, what's the weight of an 2010-11 truck?

YIKES!!! The truck: crew cab, short bed, 4WD. Two gallons fuel in the tank, rear roll pan, no tailgate, no spare tire, one batterie is still 7250 pounds empty. No way one could strip this truck down to 6000 pounds! Maybe without engine....

If we want to have newer trucks in the field the weight must be raised from the acutal 6K pound with the driver! That or no new trucks.

Food for thought.

I agree Marco...

But again, you're going to have the haters that keep saying "this is NOT a street truck class"... But I like the idea of having folks with trucks the Most of us drive on the street, convert them and race them..

just what I like..

Just look @ Arons truck. He actually drives it on the street.
But he's toooo heavy. To get the truck's weight down he will have to strip of a lot of stuff.

Bye Bye DD!

In my opinion, the required engine mods for this race are nothing real extreme. Something that's possible to DD all year long. To meet the 6K pounds is a different story tho. The weight is what turns these trucks in " Race Only".

Just my 0,00002 cents.

Idk why these guys trucks weigh what they do.

My 05 with roll pan no spare and one battery was almost 7350 with me in it. I'm 320 and the truck was still full interior lifted on 35's.

Guess the best thing to do would be to look at the weights from the manufactures. I know my 2004 2wd Std Cab long bed comes in at 6200 and my 2006 4x4 CC long bed dually comes in at about 7300. These are both fully loaded stock trucks with nothing removed. So 6000 lbs is no big deal for the 2wd trucks.

05 QCSB 4x4
Me = 255 ish
no spare
3/4 tank full
some crap inside.

on the scales with me = 7300 lbs. even

07 Megacab 4x4= around 7500 with me in it.

6k or 6500 will work for me on our new 2.6 truck.

I agree with looking at the weights of the manufacturer and see what a 2wd reg cab DMAX is and go from there.

Marco, a significant portion of a BlueTec truck's curb weight is comprised of parts that aren't likely to see a hit on the track in Super Stock trim.

We dropped 500 kilos off the OEM wet weight on the 6.7L 4WD Super Stock entry we took to Bradenton - it wasn't easy, yet well within the capabilities of talented professionals (the folks that Super Stock attracts & rewards); there are already index classes & brackets for actual daily drivers to participate in.

Even though our truck can make weight at 6K, it remains a daily driver - fully functional for hauling, towing or commuting... built to win Super Stock & already scheduled to run both Hot Rod's Power Tour & Drag Week in addition to TSX, Scheid's and a half-dozen other events this season - just to show what's possible with the 6.7L.

Bob got a look at our Dark Horse on the trailer in FL, so he's got an idea of what can be done - you ought take a look for yourself next time we're in the same zip code... especially since the truck carries MADS co-sponsorship.

Tschuss! :Cheer:

Someone should figure out if it's 6k or 6.5k soon. My truck is about to be anorexic, and I don't like it. 6500 would mean I could pull the tailgate and roll through tech at 6525. I bet Ashley and I quite possibly made the most passes that weeken as well. I had 24 time slips, and he made more than in did.

Ok so with the weight thing as an example my 97 2wd dually weighs 5900, my fat butt 320. So I would have to add weight. I saw a variety of weights at braidenton such as bar bell weights, and tractor weights being added is that ok? I would love to just make a couple of plates in the bed and and add some bar bell weights ass needed. But what would be the legal way to the center bar? And idea's

S/S weight

My truck with me in it(300 lbs) and a half tank of fuel was 6050. It is with a roll bar and everything inside just like it was from the factory. It still has the trailer hitch. Only thing removed is spare tire and tailgate. Jeff

Rules

I say keep everything the same as what you started with a lot of people are building trucks for this class. No need to kill the class with rule changes before it gets anywhere. Some of you guys are starting to sound like truck pullers wanting rules changed to benefit your own trucks.LOL
