Swole's Infamy of Carnage Continues!!

Anyways...no truck prior to a 3rg gen has been so easy to daily drive with 800 plus hp...some stuff is going to fail if you make a mistake...either in driving style...or set up.

Sorry swole....keep your head up...its just a tip!

Good post.

There are huge pitfalls with current tunes and pressure boxes. Ever notice the rail options on the smarty suck. Rail options in the tst sucked worse. Throw the pressure boxes in the garbage. After running a stand alone I can't even imagine running that stuff again.

What stand alone did you run?

Not Bosch or the Destroked. Will spill the details once I'm sure its a good option. Working on some very minor details, but so far its awesome. Driveability is awesome....running nozzles on CRIN3's that make my flux5's look like stock nozzles and can drive it totally smoke free. Press the throttle down hard and smoke limitation maps only fuels for spool and ramps fuel with boost like its supposed to be. Push the throttle down into kickdown off boost and no huge cloud of smoke.

have you tried either of the other 2 you metioned?

Got a Call!

NOT injector tip related! All the tips look fine according the Jeff / Sticky

Jeff's gonna test them later but the tips look fine.

More to come later

I don't suppose you checked the chargers?? I've had them leave a large white cloud behind me after puking a wheel...and those wheels can make a weird noise like that.

It's wishful thinking maybe...
Chris

They've not pulled the charger, I'll do that along with the head in the AM...Got the next two days off.

This is all via phone from Jeff and Kyle...

Jeff was so curious that he was paying Kyle to work on my Junk for me!! LOL

Jeff's awesomeness and friendship knows NO bounds!!!! Thank you Jeff / Kyle!

Good deal...just wanted to throw that out there...I know how frustrating this crap can be.

You have my number if there's anyway to help from here David!
Chris

DO WANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rockwoot:

The nozzle could be cracked internally. Between the pintle and the nozzle's body. It is not visible to the eye, but any pressures over 10,000 PSI and it will show up quickly on a test bench as back leakage. If it turns out to be cracked in that location, you have MASSIVE pressure issues going on. Either something you cant see on the gauge ( maybe a crappy gauge or sensor ) or an FCA that sticks, causing spikes.

There is also a good possibility the injector body from BOSCH is cracked. They can crack inside the body and not leak fuel directly into the crankcase. Not a damn thing we can do there except try stainless steel bodies.

There is no 100% "fix" for high pressure with the current design system. Thats why Bosch redesigned the newer 6.7 injectors. More strength

Don, still dodging the question about why your nozzles fail, you blame it on being sac type, so what is the real reason?

Seems like you either know the answer to this question, or at least think you know..

So what say you? What do you do differently to your common rail injectors to keep them from failing? You're all about the full disclosure and asking the right questions around here lately... Lets hear some answers on why your injectors are better, and why they won't fail!

Inquiring minds would like to know!

Yeah, I've been wondering why your asking some goofy questions...

Don, respond to the guy ;-)
