Swole's Infamy of Carnage Continues!!

If it turns out NOT to be the injectors, I want you ALL to Kiss and make up with Don now!!! lol

Weston, You first buddy!!! LOL

I don't get into pickin on people but when we spend the kind of money to get to where alot of us are and someone raises a question about their product...i wanna hear about it! We can start a new thread but id like some kind of responce Don. Remember guys the more Don is on here the less time he is workin on all of you guys's injectors and driven that fancy car of his.

Man, I hope you figure it out today... Good Luck. You are in Good Hands. Jeff and his crew are Good people!
I'd send the injectors to Don and have him check them out.
Hopefully its just a headgasket..then I'd O ring it or Fire ring it.. hopefully thats what it is....knock on wood.
Thanks,
Deo

Most of us have heard about Daves truck, but i thought it would be nice to see some of his other stuff.

David, no expert advice from me.... Like I said at the track, sorry to hear about your troubles again.

Question for the experts. Can we not make big power without the high pressures? Is it not possible to use stock pressure, rail relief valve, and just use larger holes / more duration to achieve the big HP and TQ goals?

Seems like you either know the answer to this question, or at least think you know..

So what say you? What do you do differently to your common rail injectors to keep them from failing? You're all about the full disclosure and asking the right questions around here lately... Lets hear some answers on why your injectors are better, and why they won't fail!

Inquiring minds would like to know!

I have facts, borescope pictures, and flow charts. I want to know why Don says one thing, then changes his story when it suits the issue. Same as the turbocharger inquiry, your naive if you think I don't have proof.

Yes we can. My truck was built with the intetion of having low rail pressure ans the stock relief valve. It runs consistent 11.2's with a very, very conservative tune(no TNT or R). And as some were wandering at Commerce, its never seen NX, yet anyways:ylsuper:. It maxes out at 20,000 psi RP with the II 120% pump. I was told over and over agin that it was never gonna make power with that low of RP. But this truck still gets used and driven every day, so I wanted it to be as reliable as possible. So far, so good.

Swole, I'd like to see your truck with a single cp3, stock relief, open up the return on the back of the head and see if some of your problems go away. Even if this time it isnt a fuel system problem, I still would like to see you give it s try. You can still make big power and fast times without the crazy RP.

That's awesome...but what's the buy in cost?

I've been working them over on that....don't think can get it under 5k. Maybe a volume deal would cut that down.

Ideally you would have a flow map for the injectors. Asked Don for data for his flux 5's and didn't so much as get a response.

Its not a issue. Can get exactly what you want from Bosch with injector energization tables.
For good smoke control you need accurate fuel mass calculations that are only going to be as good as the injector conversion table.

The question arises "But sometimes I very want to smoke out the mutherfcker in the right lane"....no problem.......throttle up to 80-100% and she's "Release the Kracken". FULL FUEL.

I don't suppose you checked the chargers?? I've had them leave a large white cloud behind me after puking a wheel...and those wheels can make a weird noise like that.

It's wishful thinking maybe...
Chris

my charger did this when it went.. it made a helluva racket.. thought i windowed the block and TONS of white smoke.. popped the hood and didnt see anything really out of place.. end up pulling the intake and the turbo had let go, broke the shaft. i thought it was much worse initially.. but end up being only the charger.
