Talk to me about clutches........

Justin I keep telling you to give me your truck and you won't have to worry bout it no more!

I run nothing buy Southbend ... and recommend nothing but Southbend. Peter is a fantasic guy to deal with, and his products have been proven time after time. As far as the imput shaft goes ... upgrade it ... its worth it

:thankyou2: im with him..i love my 3600 dualdisc well worth the money

Oh hell it would be broke down all the time. Stays that way enought with me driving it like i own it.

South Bend 3600 sprung hub dual disc. Have them in 2 daily driven trucks that pull on ocassion, no problems with them and they are awesome clutches. Customer service at south bend is top notch.

If you plan to stick with a stick, go big the first time Anna, trust me :bang If you plan on 600HP go ahead and get a DD with the upgraded input, there is a reason you have trouble finding DD's for the small shafts, they tend to snap. I think that South Bend has started making a DD just for drag racing, might be worth checking into. Look into Valair also, the only reason I don't talk about them is I have 0 experience with their clutches, many here seem to be happy with them though and that has to mean something.

BTW, Dan, if you are interested in becoming a sponsor/vendor here, shoot me a PM and I'll get you the info you need.

Works for me, didn't know if you had talked to him or not, just never pass up the opportunity to help pay the server fees :D :D

I made it alot farther than alot of trucks there that were 4wd with alot more torque and hp.

Yeah, my pull wasn't great by any means. Yes, I abused the crap out of my clutch, mainly cuz of inexperience. BUT! I have a 2wd truck that weighs in at 6410 and has less than 300 hp. I hooked to the sled in a class of all 4wds and gave it all I had. You guys can hate on the 2wd part all you want, it will just give me more reason to prove that it can be done.

I was by no means "hating on you" or anything like that. Was just a simple question as to why you pulled a 2WD. Didnt know if ya'll had a 2WD class out there or what. Was not to offend or be rude in any way, so please dont take it that way. Sorry if it offended you!

A little back on track, I run the 3250DD, I called Peter and told him I wanted a clutch I could drag race w/ and I plan on 600-650 HP i recommend the 3520 he said it will take 650HP w/out a hiccup and it cost 150 bucks more than there big single

crewgirl:

Dan makes a great clutch we made two pulls on Saturday night with mine, one 5th and one 4th gear launch. It's been holding great. The best part is you can drive up to his shop and get one installed for about $300-400.

SBC HANDS DOWN

For drag racing the solid hub is better, it shifts faster :st:
