Thanks for the Congrats again everyone!!!!! I know 766 isn't that big a deal these days but is sure is fun to me!!!!!

Congrats on the number for the first runs. I really think 800 is achievable with what you have right now.

Thanks man....

I sure hope so....Im just wondering where to start....Gotta get my extra boost guage to find out what he 480 is doing and also get my RP guage....I think from there I have a little clue...

Either way....My origianl goal with this build was 750 and that EXACTLY what it did on the very first run!!! I laughed out loud when Jeff looked at the laptop and yeld it up to me with a big grin on his face....

I'm totally stoked and very pleased.....I just wished someone had a fix for the rattle...I can get used to it but those riding (non-diesel folks) and the cars around me will think its a POS with that sound...lol

Awesome Big Swole....Glad to see back up and running and making big power. Now put some damn rims on that truck:hehe: and you will have it made.

I'm sure some experts will chime in here, but yah, the extra boost gauge will definitely clue you in as to how the two turbos are working together. Nathan said you wanna try to get the overall manifold boost to be at a 2:1 ratio to the boost pressure at the bung where Nathan puts it in the cold pipe between the bottom and top turbos (at least that's what he suggested to me). I've got a 0-100psi guage for the manifold and a 0-60psi for the cold pipe. That's a good place to start. A drive pressure gauge would be useful here, too.

I've noticed I get quicker spoolup running the even Smarty numbers, and that's how I daily drive. I'll turn up the pressure and timing if I wanna goof around (on a closed track, of course) or if I'm gonna dyno. I would suggest NOT running the higher timing on a daily driven basis, same with the pressure. Even though you have twins, and the EGT gauge doesn't even make it to the red, your cylinder temps can be much hotter when you lug the motor. That's just my two cents, though.

Thanks for the advice man....Gonna try to go get another guage and RP guage Wed morn before heading down to Jeff's to install and hang out...

Yeah, Jeff explained the cylinder temp thing to me....Thats why he could care less about an EGT guage!!! lol......Doesn't really show the whole story!!!

I'll keep ya posted on my progress.....I'm not sure it has 800 in it but who knows..maybe close!!!

Congrats on the numbers. FWIW, I run 5.1's. Smoke is almost totally controllable.:D Light haze taking off from stoplights, and signs, if I keep my foot out of it, and it clears up pretty quick. No smoke when cruising. Let's just say, I like 'em.:D

Ehh wednesday is kind of tight for me. It takes every bit of hour and 45 mins to get there from Athens and I have an Agri Marketing class and an Agri Finance lab(:doh:) wednesday..I'll try, but I don't think its going to happen. I'm 99% sure I'll be dropping in Friday to get that motor though. I gotta make sure the tractor is at the house so I can get that sucker out of the truck. LOL

Any torque readings?

We were in such a big hurry to get Jeff back on the road we didn't even take time to hook up the rpm deal that you need to compute the TQ....

I'm just going to assume that it's somewhere near 1400 or so......I could be wrong but tipically its almost twice the HP....

The dyno is cool and all but when I finally get it down the track and can put the calulator to it, I'll know all I need to know then!!!

If the calculator is correct, I should see somewhere in the 11.60-11.70 @ 114-116 mph range....

A few real consistant runs down the quarter will tell the real story....

Good numbers! Nothing like getting back into the truck after being down for so long.

What is the 'rattle' problem? timing/pressure/....?
