This is definatly a small set of twins, im hoping to get 600 horse out of them, if not ill be use an s300g as the secondary. For now its an hy35 with waste gate ported to 1.125" over a wastegated 66/71/14.

what size charge piping is going to be optimal for twins this small. i know the norm is 3", but would 2.5 be the same or better? its half the price for the tubing and bout 20% cheaper for the silicone couplers.

anyway, heres the pics.

You are going to have to wastegate around the hy more than the internal gate will flow. I've seen a setup on one of these sights way back and was thinking 475 to maybe 500 max. By the picture I'm guessing no intercooler?
I reread and see you ported the wastegate, it will help but I'm still thinking scorching hot temps at higher boost. Go for it and let us know, it ought to be a screamer on the bottom end!

i really want to get an s300g for the secondary, but funds will not allow right now.

With that setup, you're gonna want a GOOD intercooler, either that or a LOT of water.

She'll be toasty!

I'm talking almost truck puller amount of water. Those twins would be warm with an IC...it could be nuclear like that!

i had my 66 as a single w/ enough fuel to still be smoking at 60 psi and never beak 1100 deg when the water is on.

Yeah, but you weren't running that through an Hy...on either side of the engine. The Hy turbine side is really going to choke...the compressor side, is going to heat the air pretty good too.

I'm just trying to make sure you know what you're going to be fighting;)

i may do a 35/40 hybrid, im not sure, im gunna see how it runs first.

just mainly concerned w/ the cold pipe size for now

I would go ahead and do 3"...spool isn't an issue really, and it should be pretty simple to get the connectors for each charger to fit 3" pipe!

It's a tiny wheel in a tiny housing...HX would be better, but still not great. For a VP truck, it should be OK if you drill out the divider to wastegate al 6 cylinders.

External gate would help a lot, and you'd get better tuning capabilities.

on the HX you would NEED to go external gate, the biggest you can go is 7/8 maybe 15/16 on the HX's internal gate.

The HX doesn't have a 9cm housing, so the NEED wouldn't be as great.

Personally, I'll never build twins again without at least one external gate...internals are a PITA to tune, and don't flow like an external!

I have a hx35 housing with a 38 mm wastegate internal. I traded a guy some parts and he milled the housing out and used a valve to make the bigger flapper.
I just did a bigger internal on a he351 on twins and with the bottom turbo unhooked it will completely control boost no matter how much fuel I put in it.
I think rollin coal's setup is going to run like gangbusters but it may choke on the top end. It will probably just puff a little smoke and clean up instantly. That's what the hy I had on did with 125 horse injectors and a ez. Get this running and give us a report back on how it does!

i started it today, to check for leaks and all, no charge piping yet, hopefully tmrw or firday depending on the weather.

Holy freaking crap.............

just wow..............

I dont know what else to say

heres what i got for you guys right now.

we took it for a ride, 1/4 throttle, its an instant 40psi of boost. I got on it hard once in 4th gear, and managed to actually put some power to the ground, and let off when the gauge hit 80psi

my water/meth isnt hooked up, and egts arent breaking 1200*
