not sure may just drill a small hole and look ,, got the small cover off and was looking ,,,, got a tranny for a 06 sitting on the bench for the wifes truck. kinda looking at the plug , but if not well i'll only have 10 mins in it ..

oh , dan i'm i going to have to drop the valve body to, or just pull the tranny install the lever and filler up ... what you think ?

I think you have to drop the tranny, pull the convertor out, then change it.

well i gota access hole cut where the apply lever plug goes and was able to lossen it ,,, now just waiting for the lever to come in,,,, took only an hour to do .... all have some pics later ,,,,,,, i know its a cave man thing to do ... i'll show what tool i got to do the job,,, but when your pressed for time you start thinking

well was told by the builder (or tech that built the tranny)they don't make billet levers...??????????????????????????????????????????? well gota billet lever sent to me by another tranny builder....

my next question now is ,,install the lever and adjust the front band and go or do i need to drop the valve body ????

I think you will have to drop the VB to get access to the lever. Have you looked at it close enough that you think you can get the pin out?

i gota hole cut in the bell housing and just need to finish it up ... pull the plug and slide the pin out of the way and install the lever ,,, just don't know about the band and the strut (i think theres two pieces. one on each side of the band, and i think the apply lever hooks on one side of it not sure .) guess all call to see if i have to drop the valve body to rehook the lever side up to the band ... then i could totaly wrong

Years back I remember seeing a truck with a huge chunk cut off of the bottom.

Would be easier to drop the valve body. I would do it just to make sure the strut and adjuster are still sitting on the band correctly.

It's not even a 10 min job to pull the VB, so it's worth it.

It's odd that the apply lever broke though. I run the stock 3.6 lever in my trans as well.

nate,, yea still droped the valve body ,,, had to call zstoken on how to release the park pin lever ... and thanks for the info Dan

No problem, as I told you it stumped us one night for awhile. You know what they say, the more trouble something is the more you remember it!

The easiest way I found to do that is jack the rear of the truck off the ground and "wiggle" the wheel with your foot while pulling a little on the park rod.

Best trick I have found is put the transfer case in neutral. If that doesn't work move the truck.
