Okay, so a few minor updates. I'm waiting on a pair of 3.5" ID Schedule 40 elbows to get here tomorrow so I can finish up the hot side.
I think this is where I left off with it last time....
If you look at that hot pipe, it's just an old BD piece that I had laying around that I made fit this setup. Well, I wasn't real happy with it as I had already adapted it to fit the S400 discharge when it was originally sized for an S300, so it was too small to begin with and it was cast iron which I had welded to mild steel....not terrible to do as long as you pre/post heat it but not ideal.
So, I'm making the hot pipe correctly with 3.5" ID coming off the secondary and splitting into the two 2.5" ID to feed the primaries. It'll all be Sch 40 carbon steel so no welding/cracking issues.
That means I had to make a new discharge flange for the secondary and new turbine flange into the bottom primary....
Love me some fire wrench....makes forming schedule 40 like folding cardboard.
And then I just laid out the oil lines and painted a few of the brackets to keep it from rusting up. Today I'm just going to make a few brackets to secure the oil lines and I'll pull the oil filter head off and drill and tap the feed holes for 1/4 NPT instead of the 1/8 NPT that is there now. I have to go bigger on the feed to support feeding 2 turbos with a -6 line and splitting into two -4's, so that necessitates opening up one of the ports on top of the filter head.
I also added a pair of gussets to the support bracket for that top primary (the one sitting farthest to the outside).
Otherwise, today I'm just gonna make a set of brackets to hold oil lines in place and tomorrow I should have the elbows to do the hot pipe.
