I have a 2002 and the truck only runs when the pump is unplugged if the truck is running and I plug the fuel pump in the truck will run rough then die

What is your pressure with the pump running and engine not ?

How could it be backwards if it's got 60 psi at the fuel bowl

Is that pressure still the same when you run the truck ? If it keeps that pressure with the enging running and not running it is not the fuel pump but maybe the Fuel module? Some DC motors will run in reverse when polarity is reversed....like a winch.. I encountered an instance once of the same thing and found a blown fuse in the power center and caused a back feeding issue.

Burnt injector o-rings causing a cylinder to hydro-lock when the pump is plugged in?

Idk it's crazy I'll be changing the idm and seeing what goes on

Once the copper washer on the bottom of the injector no longer seals to the injector cup, combustion is able to get by and burns the next o-ring up on the injector. This o-ring is what seals off the fuel passage that feeds the injector. Once that o-ring gets burnt, lift pump pressure pushes fuel directly into the cylinder.

Gotcha.. Thought you were just talkin bout the o-rings.
If he does have that problem he's prolly got other issues as well..

That's, a little weird.

Does it still have the stock fuel bowl?
