Using the stock turbo & s400 or k-31 for twins

Never mind man, I was too lazy to look back at page one until now.....I see you have the stocker over the s400.........MAN!! That must spool like Mad!!!!

I'm just not to sure about the S480 with my turbo.....But, I only want to do this once and make sure I can make 700ish someday and still spool fast and Tow......

Anybody else wanna chime in...??? What would ya'll do??

An S400 will get you into the low 700's.

osci, I have a hy9 over a k31. Killer towing setup, instant spool, 35psi by 2000rpm. They top out at 55 psi.

They knocked down the wfo temp down by 300f to 1200f, cruising temp down by 200f to 700. I had a ps 62/14 before, and hated it

What HP level are you at with those numbers? There's some good data there.

Im guessing 500, I have yet to dyno with this setup. I did slip my clutch (ofe)though, with the beta 4.2 on #1, if that is any indication of hp:hehe:.

All of these temps are with a pdr cam, and ddp injectors, and I usually drive it with sw 3, mild tm. My truck also weighs about 15 000 lbs all the time to. Just thought I should add this info.

Always thought that would be a cool setup! I'm guessing with a HY that you don't have an external gate.....shouldn't need it.

The nice thing is that K-31 is small in size, would be alot easier to mount ect.

At that weight you need that instant spool up.

No ext wastegate, I took Nathans Wrights, (MPI) comments on other guys twin setups, and questions.

There would have been a lot more room for the k31, if I didnt have a PRXB pacbrake built into the hot pipe, It was a fight to get in there but im glad I got it to work. No regrets so far.

Sweeeet!!! :rockwoot:

Hx-35/k-31

I already have a 12cm HX-35 in good condition and intend on fabricating
the twins myself. Gotta few questions,
Am I right to go with the K-31 over a S-400 for spoolup?
Will they work together with 2-way adjustable wastegates?
What kindve hot/cold piping should I be considring? 4 inch?
Where can I find a cheap K-31? Not a toasted one on ebay.
Thanks for any replys, Ill move onto second gen dodge section.

I posted this thread back in jan before buying my set up. Now, I'm
currently running the stocker - g-42 and just can't seem to get things to work. Iv'e spent many hours attempting to tune the sec charger with no results. At 50 lbs of boost drive pressure is 75+ at 60 lbs of boost it will peg the 80 lb guage. The primary is set at 27 psi. I have dynoed 2 difft times on 2 machines. With just injectors i made 350, and with the box all the way up was 446 and 480. I have plenty of fuel from the rg and expected this set up to make 600 hp. Any ideas on what is the problem.

This maybe kind of ignorant, but are you sure you are wastegating the top turbo enough?

Thats the problem, I have adjusted it all the in and out in 1/8" or so inc and there was no change. I even got another stock charger and modified the waste gate by another 3/16". This reduced drive pressure but also only allowed me to make 49-50 lbs of boost.

How much of that is off of the primary?

IMO the stock wastegate is never going to cut it for that much air. You're just asking to much from it. I would invest in a quality aftermarket one

27 off the primary.
