very disapointing numbers...

right about 48-50 psi then then one run i was at 55 psi... ya the turbo didnt light till 2800 rpm..

what if i loaded it up with the brakes... got about 20 psi of boost then let her rip. like a boost launch at the drags...

Foot braking it helps and has worked for many, but a load cell is more controllable.

youll break crap trying to drive on a dyno like a race track. Use the brakes to aid in loading the motor while the tires are moving not frome a dead stop.

ya thats what i mean, like be going 20 or 30 MPH then start brakeing and build boost then, foot it and take the brakes off

I agree looked like mine with a gate hanging. Most dyno's measure rate of acceleration and if you cant get it spooled fast the numbers will suffer. Scratch my comment about the 13mm pump Im sure you have all the fuel, just need some tuning.

I'm a big fan of PVC pipe...LOL

Is that a 14bolt under there? What you break a D70 and need a cheap replacement?

Thats my plan if my d70 lets go. Cheap and strong right out of the box.

I agree with these guys for the most part. I would try some 181's to limit the fuel down low (LC usually never clean up), I wouldn't go crazy with the timing with 155˚ injectors but a little more shouldn't hurt, slide the plate and AFC forward, tune the AFC, and use a lockup switch and load the truck with the brakes.

How is your AFC setup? Modified? You have a 2095 plug in the pump right?
How did you dyno? Just stop on it when your ready to go?

I was taught you should count to three while rolling into full throttle as to stay on top of the turbo. Dyno in top gear to get the most amount of load on the truck as possible, bring the speed up until it shifts into OD, lock the converter, bring the rpms up to the 1800 range and slowly apply the brakes while increasing throttle to build boost and maintain rpm. Let off the brakes and roll into it all the way.
$.02

have you checked for boost leaks? that bullet should light hard around 1800 to 2000rpms! take a air hose with about 40 or 50 psi and stick it in the gate and see if it moves!

oh ****! I was way off! is there that much difference in that a 66/71? mine would hit hard at about 18-1900 on my 24v!

it usually hits hard at 2500 rpm maybe a tad sooner, i have a full port and polished head... and whiteknight im gonna try the brake thing next time... and no boost leaks, checked all that. and i have a 2095 plug, my pump has 21mm of rack travel. afc is modded alittle, spring all the way tight and smoke screw in all the way

What kind of boost do you see on the street vs on that dyno? x2 on timing, or just hit it with some go juice :nos: I think back in the day after RILES had some lazer cuts put in and had waaay too much fuel he made like 450 on fuel and 770 on spray :charger:
