vgt exhaust brake control

ok cool thanks for that advice, i got my exhaust adapter all welded up today and ran out of time to do much else, lucky i didnt get to the vein control yet, i ended up not flipping the manifold over and hopefully my new boots will be here tomorrow and i get my truck going again

do you guys run the coolant thru these? i see that i would have to make some sort of plate to allow coolant to pass between the two holes, just wondering if its worth the trouble, i dont see it being that big a deal to get working, i already deleted my tranny cooler so i could just use the heater hoses that were for that

how do you get pics up in the thread? i looked around a little bit but thought i would ask

HE351VE controller for 12v will be available by the end of this month!

i never searched the 24v forums for this stuff thats why i couldnt find that post, i cant believe i didnt think of that, i knew he used a window something, thought it was the motor but it was the switch, thanks for that link

mines a 12v so fleece is out, did you see that video on youtube of the one with the spring? it looked simple enough just have to find the right spring

i looked at high idle motors and looks like that could work, just got to find the right one, maybe i will go hit the junk yard next week and see what i cant find

You only run coolant for the electronics.

The coolant helps a ton with shutdown temp spikes. I sawzalled the electic part off to allow acess to the vane lever but still retained the base of the aluminum motor housing to seal the water.

Electronic HE351VE 12v Controller...

hummm thats cool, i got my truck up and running today, few things tho

1st when i hit around 10psi i get a awful squealing type noise, i think its a manifold leak from between my turbo and my t3 adaptor, i check the intercooler and stuff with a air compressor set up and it held 35psi fine
the turbo spins freely with normal play, i was able to open and close the veins by hand so i know they move freely
2nd i can still only push 30psi of boost, bottom end pulls really good but sorta feels like i run out of fuel possibly, no problem braking my 36" a/t tires loose, also could be rated to loss of exhaust pressure from manifold leak i suppose
this thing spools wicked quick hopefully tomorrow i will figure out the squealing noise and my top end power, cant wait to see what it can do running right and actually use OD

I don't about the squieling noise. On the low boost id put a drive pressure gauge on it. I had a steering column pod laying around and I bought a 2" air pressure gauge from ace hardwear and it helps a lot on tuning it. Way cheaper than buying a boost gauge.

im a plumber by trade and i was thinking of using one of our 60lbs test gauges on the manifold, i could see that i was leaking exhaust yesterday so im hoping thats my problem

so that squealing was a giant exhaust leak between the turbo and the adaptor, i used some marking paint and a 4-1/2 sander disk and got it down pretty flat and the horrible noise went away, now i noticed tho that i have to pull my manifold back off and put 6 new exhaust gaskets in cause its leaking there also

bottom end power is ridiculous, i was having some fun drifting while pulling a small trailer yesterday, top end could be better i feel, i need to get the exhaust gauge on and fine tune it some more, i can hit about 1450* egt wise if i just hold the pedal on the floor in OD but im only pushing around 28-30psi while doing that so im thinking maybe its opening up too big and im loosing boost so the egts go up??
