I went and dynoed today and was happy with the #'s on my tow truck #2 only. 2001 2x4 auto.
339RWHP 75 DDP Sticks,Smarty and drag comp
410RWHP 150 Mach 4's Smarty on SW7 #3 timing.
446RWHP 150 Mach 4's Smarty on SW7 #3 timing and Drag Comp Hot
132 MPH, I have my mph limiter set at 130mph 34.5" tire.
ATS A3000 turbo.
92* 90% + humidity.
The cable for the torque was inop so no torque readings.

Just figured I would post for those modding a 24 valve.:Cheer:

9 PSI wot with a fresh fuel filter.Probably could use more air than I have but I like the throttle response. I never tried the Smarty on 9 or turn the timing all the way to extreme.I was hoping for 475hp range.
I had also thought about trying without the smarty.

you definitely need more air. 4's, drag comp. and a 62/71/13ss put down 550+, so you should have been over 500 with the comp.

are you a standard or auto?

congrats on your #'s!

i did 480 with a regular comp on the truck in my sig.i actualy lost power on the dyno stacking the smarty 22hp. i was hopeing id break 500 but the 198000mi on the vp didnt help either

It is a auto.Wish I still had the A4000 on there but was too laggy with the set up I had at the time but my current combo is pretty responsive. It would make 54 psi with it and this one is at 44psi witch I think is out of its map.

I would think you'd be higher too, I made my 474 number with the similar set-up as your 339 pull. Except I have an SPS62...smarty, edge juice (not HOT), DD2's (75hp). I don't know anything about your turbo, but it seems as though it may be at its limits.

I always find the #'s on this dyno low even on other vehicles. It is a dynojet.

Now I'm wondering if the dyno is providing any accurate information...or if it's even properly maintained....:

They have had it for about 6 months and bought it new. Any more than that??

Next time be sure to up your fuel pressure to 18psi or so. I am a firm believer that VP's make max hp above 15 psi fuel pressure.

What kind of an filter or intake setup are you running on that A3000. I know of a CR that made 550+ HP with an A3000 turbo so it will support the HP when you have the fuel.

Ice Box intake with the 5" inlet Amsol dry filter. The Fass 95 pump I have only makes 16/17 at idle.

Also a CR makes power easier than a VP does. They have trucks using a A5000 on a CR and can spool them, you will not do that with a VP without nitrous as a single.

That comment was meant to illustrate that the A3000 has the airflow for big power. Sure a CR can make more power, but not 25% more with the same moderate turbo setup. Obviously your fueling was not up to par. Either the VP is weak, the tuning was off, or your truck just had a bad day.

Pull the smarty and run the COMP with a stock ECM program next time you dyno

That is what I plan on next time.

As far as the VP it might be weak,150K miles and never been changed. I am going to try to up the fuel pressure though.

The 3000 turbo only has a 58mm wheel which is smaller than the 62mm that is popular with other brands.

I was trying to see where I was at cause there are supposed to be 12 trucks dyno at the same place this weekend and most all will be cr trucks with programmers and I am sure they will be at 450 or so. I just wanted to see if I would be in the hunt.:nos: Would be nice hidden.:what:
