What is a stock appreaing turbo?

i know the truck the cracked the block and bent rods did 680hp but i beleive has a whole new engine and upgraded internals for this season

That's third party info...

We put down 630hp on a single stock cp3 2.6 charger....
Then 730hp on dual cp3's and a 2.8" VNT ... The motor was taken down and the piston protrusion was all within spec.. It's all about tuning..

If you're running canned tuners and bolt on's, then yes you're motor is in the danger zone @ 600hp.

If you have injectors and run short pulsewidth and low timing you're able to make much more power and still be safe.

^^^exactly, all in the tuning. I never changed the timing on my tune when i put on the S472. I left it the same and sinc ei modded the pump I could hold more rail pressure so i kept adding pulse width. At the end of the day i had a smoke free 3500pw, 32* timing tune that held 21,000psi and ran like a raped ape, and 7 bent rods and one really bent rod.
 
around here pretty much any turbo looks stock on the trucks,we have 2.6 and 2.8 and they let 3.0-3.4 chargers pull with us
