Attended the Indy pull this past weekend. Definitely disappointed with the turnout there. What's up with them mailing your check if your in the money. Is that new for this year? What a joke! Drive six hours to attend and go home with a promise that 'your check is in the mail'. And then on top of that they did not check the turbo inlet on the Duramax's in the Street Diesel class. Lazy a$$ tech officals! I attended county fairs with better attendance than they had there this weekend. DHRA better get their stuff together or there won't be an Indy.

i pull 2.8 class and have 3 inch charger bushed down and have been for the last 3 yrs and so does half the good running trucks out there . so what does dhra do they make this years rules 2.8 no bushin . it there own fault they dont have any good trucks .which i think is funny and serves them right i am not going to buy a new charger just to run 3 or 4 pulls . and there make there own rules as we go has pissed off so many people, as for who has the toughest 2.8 trucks INDIANA does ric scrimager proved that ITPA is where the powerhouses are at. so if you wanna see the top trucks go to an itpa pull . itpa top trucks, terry coppess, dan musselman, luke thomas, ric scrimager, carl suggs, mike shinlaube, joel reece. oh ya franklin had more hooks than irp i think.

my tech guys said they checked all of the turbos, I personally saw them check alot of them, and some were kicked out becuase they were to big. Sorry that you feel that you should get a check at the event, I personally have been mailed checks by ATPA when they were around, NTPA,Gordyville, and Duquion so I really dont see a problem with it. That is alot of checks to be printed at the event, Sorry that you didnt think we had a very good show.

Kyle whats wrong with good old american cash. Not paying for months is a problem. A.K.A. last year.

I think all these pulling organizations that started allowing bushings was the dumbest thing ever. Hell I wish they would run a 2.8 class and a 3.0 class.

The problem with paying with cash is I am not or anyone with dhra is going to carry around that kind of cash, you are talking quite a few thousand, and then say we do give it out, someone will say we didnt get paid and then we have no proof that they did. I agree it shouldnt be months, and I dont have anything to do with what went on last yr.

You are right but you just named all the people that pull ITPA, there are maybe one or two more people that hit and miss some pulls, but that class is stagnet as can be, no new members this year I was told. One bad thing with ITPA is you have to wait for all the gasser trash and the other classes to pull, just to see the same 9 diesel trucks pull with Coppes and Scriminger fighting over 1st and 2nd.

The cash is on hand, I collected the cash at the gate last year. All you have to do is have them sign for there pay out.

just write a receipt for the cash. kinda like when someone makes a delivering and its COD.

What's that other organization called? NDAM or NADM or soemthing? I think they spured off from DHRA for some reason.

well cjk65 so if those 9 itpa trucks went to anyother event do you think they would be fighting for the top 5 places?? as for the gassers in the itpa they started the sport way back when and were nice enough to start a diesel class and most of the trucks were 2.8 trucks in central indiana at the time .most every pull out there has classes that we dont like but we watch anyways till ya get to a class you likeand ya deal with it . ya theres nadm but who wants to travel 5 or six hours for about 20 seconds of fun. and have to win just to get back fuel costs most of the pullers out there work 40s aweek and do this for fun and a hobby on the weekends and friendly competion. itpa is looking for new members just make sure you have the safety equipment. most places are getting away from non sanction classes due to insurance reasons.

I will concur with CJK65, it is great to watch the trucks, but you don't see anybody new in the class really. Would be nice if they would have adopted a 2.5/2.6 class. Especially with the power the trucks are starting to put down they should open it up to a water and open driveline class, and make it a 3.0, then have a 2.6 class. I know there are issues as most fair boards only want so many classes etc, etc.

2ndhand smoke, nice user name! Same name as my truck...

:rockwoot:

Anyway, back to the bashing.

itpa isnt a private club anyone can join . bring it on come pull .time is an issue with some fairs and are in city limit and have sound ordanances so they cant have to many classes .and dont want to pull till 3 in the morning.

ok just wanted to make sure i had named my truck that first . i had use alot of haisleys used parts to build it . and when i say build i mean build like from the frame up . built by me roy slaughter, brad albright , josh ashy first hook was 5/27/06 at srdiesel concepts pull.

2ndhand Coppes and Scriminger would be in the top five and it would depend on who else was there. Hell any of you guys could be in the top 5 on any given night. If you look at TS back in april it was Mosley, Coppes and Scriminger. I enjoy the "regional" or "national" events cause you get to see a good mix of trucks from the midwest and points elsewhere and who is on their A game.

I also think that NADM and DHRA are going to struggle for the reasons stated above, the travel vs the payout and time invested...

I am in no way bashing ITPA just not to excited to go to an ITPA pull. I know you guys put tons of time and sweat in these machines and wish I had the funds to do the same.

i was there and it wasnt terry wasnt even in the top 5. and u r right i am just lookin at the indiana trucks , ohio, michigan, ky, all have there own pulling groups and all have good trucks and the big shows are nice to see where you stand against everyone. dont know whether i willgo to anymore wide open pulls not to impressed with there website paying to get in and then paying again to enter and help put on a show for them fuel is bad enough.

I have done some checking and the payout was exactly as it was listed, the only thing the was done wrong was the check in the picture had the wrong amount on it. As it was stated on here the payout for the national event was for a total purse, not for each day in pro and super mod since they were two separate pulls, this is how it has been done for the past few yrs, nothing new.

As far as the cash goes, we are a business and just like any other business we have to have proof of our expenses, this is how every other pulling organization I know of does it so I dont know why you think we need to be differant.

Checks for the indy have been printed and will be mailed the first of the week. Rita can only get so much done in a day and she is working on getting them out as soon as she can.

As far as the complaints about the pull offs, last yr when we were making the rules , i heard alot of complaints about a floating finish and trucks going to 330 or 340, so we set the rules up to change that and now Im hearing alot of complaints about not having a floating finish, so I really dont know what you guys want. I guess I could tell the sled operator to make sure we dont have any over 310 but then alot of you would be stopped at 250 and upset.

I hope this answers some questions and concerns, if there are more please let me know. Kyle Jackson
