What's with the DHRA?

I got my refund check in full on Thursday from DHRA, exactly as promised.

As far as the complaints about the pull offs, last yr when we were making the rules , i heard alot of complaints about a floating finish and trucks going to 330 or 340, so we set the rules up to change that and now Im hearing alot of complaints about not having a floating finish, so I really dont know what you guys want. I guess I could tell the sled operator to make sure we dont have any over 310 but then alot of you would be stopped at 250 and upset.

Well it would be nice if the rest of your crew knew what was going on. Saturday you WERE having pulloffs if anyone went over 310. I did notgo over on saturday so nothing to worry about. Sunday nothing different was said. I pulled 318 and some change I think, asked about 5 different officals before I got off the track if we were having the pulloff again since the truck ahead of me went even further, 319 and some change. Well everyone sent me to the next guy not knowing wtf was going on. Finally the last one said park um in the pits were not having one today. Ok I park it, walk back to the stands and next thing I hear as I set down......OK fans it looks like were gonna have a pul off here. Dunno how many ppl saw it but I sure felt kinda out of place running across the whole complex jumping fences and chit... Then as soon as I reach my truck I hear over the p.a OK fans its looks like were gonna do a floating finish I guess........ All I want is to talk to someone that knows whats goin on

I heard someone got the shaft for around $900 from DHRA at Indy. Claimed one of their sponsors backed out on them. So the $1800 first place prize in the super street was actually $900. So he now shows at the NADM events. I dont know much about what happened last year but it didnt take long for it to start again this year it looks like

The total purse for the Pro Mod and Super Mod trucks was split for Saturday and Sunday.

I received my Indy dragracing check from DHRA in the mail on Saturday. I received my Indy sled pull check at the pull in Findlay, Ohio Saturday night. The pulling checks are all ready, I saw a stack of them in envelopes.

2Tone12V:

To add to what you already posted, I had heard that this so-called sponsor DHRA told the racers had "backed-out on them" NEVER WAS A SPONSOR FOR THE EVENT IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! Like you said, it didn't take long for all the "shenanigans" to start again. Same old, same old..........................

Yes I heard that they were split. But to my understanding the drivers were not informed. And a person who placed in the class was expecting a certain amount and was then informed he wouldnt be receiving that much. What a shame. Nice to see him at the NADM events now though!:rockwoot:

It was a POS event. Doubtful there will be another next year at IRP. Unless run by another organization. Let's just hope dhra didn't taint it too bad.

This so called sponsor that backed out is a total lie made up by the competitor, we have never told anydody that this so called sponsor backed out on us, he never did. The competitor was told when he left getting his picture taken how much he was getting and he was fine with it at the time. Im not going to say names bet he knows who he is, we have done 100% of what we were supposed to due. I personally cant tell each and everyone of you guys everything, I have never been to a pull that they told you how much the payout was at the drivers meeting, and I cant control what is said on the PA 100% of the time, our rules are anyting over 310 is a pull off, just like the rule book says but I changed it due to the rain coming in. If youve got a question or a problem how about talking to one of us instead of getting on here and telling everyone how bad we are, anybody is free to PM me at 53 willy or email me at kyle@dhraonline.com, but please remember dhra is not my fulltime job, I dont get on this website everyday, and it might take me a day or two to get back with you but it will be as soon as I can. Thanks Kyle Jackson

Does nobody do this for the love of the sport anymore or is everybody concered about a payout? Just wondering..

well you have to admit its a expensive sport, and we all know the payouts are not as much as other sports.

I myself would like some fuel money for the ride home

$.02

^^^^^^^^^^^^what he said^^^^^^^^^^^
Rules are rules and everyone should follow them

Well last weekend most of us did it just for the love of the sport. $100 bucks to hook, why should you pay that much when you can got to a brush pull for $20 and have just as much if not more fun......

$100!!!!! where??????

To me it doesnt seem like the Sled Pull part of DHRA is the problem. Ya they made some mistakes, like knocking House out for not having an air shut of in the Super street class, but realy there isnt too much wrong. From what i have heard it all goes a bit higher.

You cant blame the track, heck with as much rain as that area got, Im suprized there was even a track left saturday morning, let alone a pull! I know how hard it is to put on an event and make every one happy. Its never going to happen. But if you look at the big picture, I think it all happened about as well as it can go. IF you look at how much money had to be paid out to every one, its hard to guarentee that money is going to be there that day in cash. i can understand bruch pulls with 100% pay outs getting cash at the end of a pull.

Well i dont know why he would specify what sponsor supposedly backed out. I believe what he says. Dont know why he would just make that up. Beings the sponsor he was told backed out was a sponsor on his truck and he called to confirm it and was let in on another lie by DHRA

I can not believe that I am about to say this but I agree with 2tone on this.. I heard the same thing from the same guy on I am pretty sure the same night in the same state!!!

Kyle I really don't think it has anything to do with you, just the way some things are handled in my opinion.

$100!!!!! where??????

At Irp the nationals. $50 for competitors to get in the gate all weekend and $50 for the membership and to hook. Hell I shoulda said I was just there to watch. Woulda been less to get in the gate....

I personally invite you to one of our pulls...We will tell the payout as soon as the pull date is set...thats one way we get trucks. But we are not some big pulling organization, we are just a put on a measley little pull in Southern KY.

I will also chime in here. When we post up the cash amount to the winners (on our website), we pay them that cash the day of the event. Each winner is handed an envelope with cash in it that day. No checks, just cold hard cash, of course it will be Canadian money, but it's cash in your hand :D
