Who is pulling 5th gear

I pull in 4th, the tires I use are 305-65-17,and the sled guy is saying that I am taking the sled about 22mph down the track. That is what the truck dose emty. I was also thinking of going to 5th. Emty the truck will go 28mph.

mine does 35mph in 5th with 285/75/17s at 3500rpms
 
Are CR's limited to around 4000 rpms still? (sorry don't follow that close)

If so, 5th gear in a 6 speed, w/ 33" tires, and 4.10's comes out to 35 mph at 4k...

w/ 3.73's it's 39 mph.

I'm just trying to compare the difference between what you guys are running and me with my 3.55 gears, 35" tires, and leaving the hole at 4500 rpm (I'm showing 35 mph wheel speed since I run 4th gear)...
 
I can only get like 3500 rpms, that is right around 29,30mph 5th. Six speed also.
 
That southy bend 3600 won't last long at all. Looks like you have some bigger tires and wheels on your truck if thats your truck in the picture and you might be better off trying 2nd high then jumping to 5th low?

I run 5th gear everytime now and dont hang weight so i can get the wheel speed. All depends on your setup.

well theres the problem, south bend is junk, i absolutely hate mine, this winter its coming out and a haisley is going in for sure!!!

The one at Scheids I was on it more then usual cause I was nervous and didnt want to snuff it in front of that many people.

this why i dont run tnt-r this is the crapiest my truck has ever ran wouldnt even make 60psi thats why i dont run tnt-r
 
Looks like you forgot to turn it on or something? There's no smoke what so ever.
 
That doest make any sense at all on the TNT-r, revo is not even close to what the race tune will do.

2nd high then jump to 5th low? I've only seen a few people even grab a gear while pulling, much less grab a gear, and switch t-case ranges.. Kinda throws your south bend won't last long comment for a corkscrew...

The only issue I've had with south bends is I tear the splines out of them. On my single disc's I would rip the center, and then then my solid DD that I was doing alot of towing with, I wore the splines out on the clutch and trans.

It is because you are demanding too much fuel & draining the rail before your cp3 can fill it. My brother has the same problem. He dynoed sw9 & hit 530hp, SW3 got him 554hp with stock cp3.
 
i pulled 5th low a few times with 3:73 and 35" StS and got some serious speed. it will be hard to get a duel disk to last though. im going tripple disk now. 2nd high worked great but hit the tnt-r rev a few times.

Thank you I guess i didn't think someone would actually think I meant take off in 2nd high then not only shift to 5th but also throw your transfer case from the high side to the low side going down the track then get back in it:bang! But yeah!
