Spool Aid.....

I may be putting on a set from Mike soon. We just have to find the right time. Mike and team are on the right track with making the engine more efficient at #1 and #6.

This mod will really be nice when dialed in correctly with other mods for setting up a single large turbo instead of doing twins to get the TQ and HP #'s.
 
Ok guys me and my buddy are going to the track today see what kind of changes might be seen.. we race alot and know how our vehicles perform so and thing changed will be easily noticable...
 
Well today we were blessed with a rain out at Bandimere... really aggrivating...But dyno tomorrow or friday.. I added a tst to my truck today and wow.. its insane how hard the truck pulls.. I did a 30psi 4wd boost launch on brand new pavement and had it set up for an agressive street combo and barked my 2-3 shift good!!! it was awesome..

I'm sorry the testing is taking so long guys I call this dyno guy everyday and he is always busy.. and I can only use his for the results I need.. and I can't control the rain sorry.. but I'm still trying... it will happen...
 
my truck isnt the test truck.. I havent dynoed this year yet and I have put in a new engine and change turbos twice,, injectors 3 times.. and always finding trinkets..lol.. the test truck is my friends 04 and nuthing has changed.. we have new turbos for it but they arent going on till we dyno with the spool aid...
 
I can't believe I ever got rid of my tst... its so much fun.... and the great thing was driving around it wasnt smokey at all unless I got into it decently...
 
Well just did a dyno.... egt's down 200 degrees and more power and torque... more to follow....

Awsome thread! It's always cool seeing more people try new things.
I am curious about a couple of things, how does the press fit hold up to the high boost numbers? I know you said it was doing good in an earlier post, just wondered how it was doing after more heat cycles. Did you do anything to help the tubing seal or just "press" it in?
 
After 2 weeks of daily driving and today on the dyno doing 6 runs and random street racing testing between us only no isses the DOM in the head... the trucks makes 80 psi all day long....
 
The dyno we went to day was a larger version of the original dyno we used... he said the guy was good and it would hold the truck... and he also said if it didn't work out we could go to his.. well the truck dynoed 650 something and with adding a the correction factor of 1.19 it is 780 hp.. which in comparission to the before results.. of 768 a 12 hp increase..!!! the best part is on the dyno before the truck would just about 1700 degrees during a dyno run today it didn't go over 1500...!!! we will be going to the original dyno very soon, as soon as he has time for us.. anyways I would pst the graph but its a pic from my droid x and doesnt really show much info being that the operator didn't really know what he was doing trying to set it up...!!! hahaha.. but there is proof thsi works gains arent huge but gains are evident and egt's do drop... next wednesday is racing and hopefully we will get on the original dyno again..before hand..

Is this mod something that can be done with the engine still in the pickup? Your talking about putting DOM in the head and it appears to be a rather tight press fit. Could this also work with let's say a banks 3.5 inch highram? Did your boost drop any? Not that dropped boost is a bad thing in this case. This could turn out to be a cheaper alternative to machining the head to accept a different manifold. Unless you just really need to have the intake side ported just that bad.
 
So you dynoed at a different dyno than before. What was the temp difference from the last dunk date.

I would be interested in doing this to spool the S475 faster.

We did dyno at a different location but on the same dyno just a larger verion of it.. I knwo there could be some difference but I really needed a piece of mind for the readers ya know.. But I will be going to the original dyno in a few days.. the truck during the dyno run dropped 200* on the egt side of things compared to berfore which it would run 1700... now it was 1500..
