I would do the black but nothing with a large gap. The dark color of the truck would make any light completely pop out through the rim design.

Personally the black rims look clean to me. When I paint/shortbed/lower my truck it will be getting black rims.

I typed that on my X.

I say leave them chrome, if you go black you will loose the kinda flashy little street look, the wheels will kind of disappear instead of make it stand out, I have the same wheels only they are black/machined

Chris, I have a set of Beltech frop springs for the front and I plan to pull some more springs from the back.

That will look good... I like lowered 2WD corner carver diesel trucks!!! I also like lifted trucks and off road monsters too... I really don't like any truck at stock height... they either need to go up or down!!!

im in your boat with the lowering. i need to drop the ass end one or two to match the front. i still have to stick my fenderliners in there.. i had to drop a size on the tires bc the were actually getting cut by the inner fender.

always something

chris i know ill be at central ky smokeout, hebron ohio and numidia at the least. ts and scheids are up in the air. im not jazzed about takin this truck some where with that many drunken morons.

When is the Central KY Smokeout? I might be able to make that event but the others might be a little too far for me... You can also bring the truck down here to Tennessee and we can shoot it in a better location/setting than we can generally get at an event! Your truck looks good and I'd like to shoot it too at some point, especially once you get the stance right...

As for TS and Scheid's, I'm sure I'll be at both events and I guess we'll just have to hope for the best as far as the drunken morons are concerned... It kills me that someone would mess up someone elses hard work 'cause they are jellous!!!!

i havent seen a new date for the smokeout yet. last year i think it was 2 weeks or so after ts. my bud is building another new puller and wanted to go there. so who knows.

as for tennessee....i love me some nashville!:rockwoot:

its a shame, i dont want to stay home from the big events, but after this year at scheids....it needs to be controlled.

I'm with you on that... I haven't had any problems with my Tahoe at either event any time I've been there but I'll be driving the Project LB7 DMax from now on and I don't want someone messing with it while I'm asleep... I don't stay at the "Party" hotel either though...

I'm about 2 hours south of Nashville and have some great places to shoot vehicles here in Dayton... especially once we get some foliage back on the trees again!:rockwoot:

Chris, how far are you from Columbia TN? I have an aunt and uncle I visit a few times a year up there.

Mapquest says it is about 3hrs from the house... It is off the 24 near Murphysboro which is about 2 hrs from me.

lol pete i like how you call it the old man truck in your sig. we used to call it the grandpaw truck when 97364x4 owned it and it was still a two tone long bed

Black wheels would look okay as long as you go with kinda a flat black imo and no beadlock effect. I love the way the truck looks with the chrome wheels it looks good!! Black chrome wheels would look sick on that thing imo. Lower that thing already its gonna look killer.

WHat!? Thats Phils old truck!? Dang, it looks awesome!

What about throwing some of the body color on the wheels? The thing about black for me, is if you have black wheels you need to black out the lights as well.

The headlights are already black and the tails will be soon. I had honestly never considered some grey on the wheels but I kind of like the idea. After last night at the track I am honestly torn between keeping these or selling them and doing some fat and skinny's.

I would leave them chrome, well you already knew that hahah. And man that truck looks familiar just a little shorter.

LOLLOLLOL your vote doesn't count!!!

Ha I am glad you got them on ok man and btw they do look good on the shorter truck :Cheer:

I just wish I would have heard from you before I bought my 3rd gens and we could have worked out some sort of trade

black grill? you high?

pete. the truck looks badass the way it is. i wouldnt touch a thing. if maintenance on the chrome wheels is an issue ive been using the armor all protectant stuff that you spray on after you clean the wheels. keeps them clean for a long time

lol, my bad, grey grill. And no I wasn't at the time lol
