This may be a stupid question but can the trucks with factory driveline run a 3.0 charger at 8000lbs or does it have to be bushed to 2.8?

Darren, 3.0 trucks are generally 500 lbs lighter than that of a 2.8 truck. This doesnt matter wether its open driveline, or factory equipment.
