Thinking about re-pinning my painless harness for the 06 ECM. Following this thread for sure.
I'm about to do the same all data has all the diagrams you need to figure out how to re pin all the wires
biggest thing with a re pin is your dash wont work, and a few other things that some people tend to care about, others don't. Lee's harness and second ecm gets 99.9 % of it going.
Ran in to problems due to communication differences between the dash and engine. Was able to wire the dash and perform the functionality check verifying operation but tach, voltage, or CEL was not functional during idle.
Talked with a communication engineer from AT&T and Software Support Specialist for a local software company some information. No luck.. Apples to oranges tho. Still digging in my free time.
Been there done that with lee set up took for ever to get in had to send it back in after long wait got it back again to not be right. Stopped replying to calls emails and facebook. Need less to say I got a kit that still not right. Cant lock out overdrive in truck in when hook to sled that kinda a big deal. With lee set up you can control the trans in a early 03. Need less to say after lots of phone calls etc I was the first 03 he did. I wish now I had went a different direction with truck.
there is only 5 wires you have to switch over from 04 to 06 ECM to make the truck run but if you have an early 03 with the box on the intake manifold for your throttle assembly it's a little bit harder.
Can you Elaborate on this? I am trying to decide on a harness sawp or a repin. I have a Early 03 in my swap. Are you talking about the throttle lever on the intake?
I don't know where he gets 5 wires from but it's not that bad I'd say more like 15-20 wires you have to switch around , all the injector wires and a couple others are in the same spot
it is only 5 the only difference in between the 04 is it it has two separate wires for the throttle position sensor 2007 only has one
.it is only 5 wires you have to swap for the engine to run you will not have gauges though on your powerstroke conversion that may be a different story because you still have a chassis cm correct
