Can all of this please be moved out of this thread? This event went very well and everyone involved seemed to have a great time, its a shame to have it drug into the mud.

I have it flagged in my cable Box, Chris I was at OSW last night and Told Randy he announced it over the PA at the track and him and His Dad are suppose to watch.

That was cool .... I don't care who you are......

I love this line "the diesel guys will dig that" Who says that?

It was nice I would have like to see some more sled pulling tho.. Other than that great job guys

Well that was a bit of a sticky ... because the show is "Inside Drag Racing" We had to work to get the coverage of it that we got.

Gotcha bro didnt even think of that but either way you guys did a great job... Cant wait till next year

Thank you!

We have already started planning for next year. We have some ideas that should make it an even MORE action packed day of diesel motorsports.

the show was good, hope that next year we can see more side by side racing in the later rounds.

have you guys talked with the outdoor channel ? they did a nice job with the NADM pull at the Indiana jamboo last year.

Jay

Yea it was a good show. It had a ton of advertisements in it. It seemed they showed two races then a five minute segment on gasser stuff. I enjoyed it tho

First of all I think it's great that the event got some coverage. But there was very little coverage of the actual racing, and unfortunatly not very good action. Only a couple of real races, (Jeff's being the best) the rest seemed liked one of the two broke or had a by round. That's racing however.

I'm sorry but unless you got a dog in the fight, diesel bracket racing isn't good TV. I don't know if it was the distance from the track but even the 9 sec runs in Prostreet didn't look very fast on TV. There were good plugs for NHRDA and the sponsors, but if I weren't already a diesel race fan, that show wouldn't have converted me.

One smokey diesel running another smokey diesel doesn't seem to get the casual drag racing fan too excited. What I have noticed and I think a lot of people would agree with, is when a fast diesel truck whips up on gasser cars the fans love it. Sort of rooting for the underdog. I don't know what it going to take to get more fans out to our events with the current state of the economy but if I were on the fence about attending a diesel drag race where I knew non of the racers, or had much of an interest in diesels, that show did nothing to convince me to come and watch.

That is an honest critique from my prospective, it was well done, better camera angles of the racers would have helped as would of some more coverage of the better races.

You have to remember that this was Inside Drag Racing, its more of a highlight show than actual coverage of an event. It's a start in the right direction. ID is very excited about diesel drag racing and have already approached us about covering the finals in October.

The show was pre-empted locally for a Mariners game, but finally ran at 2:30 in the morning. Using my trusty old VCR (remember those things that take a tape?) I recorded it, and the timer even worked! I only had time to watch the first couple of minutes while eating breakfast this morning, will watch the rest tonight.

That would be really awesome if they cover the regional finals!

Regards,
Michael Pliska

I watched it as well. There was alot of commercials, but they gotta pay the bills somehow ya know. Overall I liked it, wished they would've panned out more at the end to see the Grand Rock booth though...LOL gonna have to see Randy about that...LOL

Yeah, I agree about the commercials. I guess I get spoiled watching NHRA races on TV (where the NHRA actually PAYS ESPN for the air time, then sells a bare minimum of commercials).

I suppose it would have been nice to get some footage of the guy racing the rental truck, but I can't have everything!

Regards,
Michael Pliska
