i am curious about the turbine wheels as i had a sales pitch thrown at me with them. are they the same or different? I know the sizes are the same but curious about design.
To share the information we have been discussing, the 68/76mm turbine currently used will carry over into the SX-E line, however the 73/80mm turbine wheel design has been changed. The machined back-cut has been replaced with a less aggressive cast clip, I had hoped this was the change they would make, this will allow the turbine wheel to be much more responsive.
When will these be available for public purchase?
The machined clip was to alleviate a blade harmonic in the wheel's original application from John Deere, the majority of the newer BW turbine wheels have a cup style inducer.
No they are different wheels entirely, the 68/76mm S300 wheel is the same design as the 74/83mm S400 turbine wheel, so the smaller of the two will spool faster.
Sorry....I meant between a S300 73/83 and the s400 74/83. (Being that the S300 wheel is clipped and the s400 isn't.
The 73 turbine is no longer clipped?
