New NADM Street licensed diesel rule?

This thread has been very humorous to watch.

6 pages nearly 2000 views, all for a NEW RULE FOR 2.6 CLASS.

You guys should read your 2008 rulebooks- Page 34.

The class is called 2.6 Street Diesel not 2.6 pulled here on a trailer wont idle over heating not gona let my tires touch pavement Diesel
:hehe:
thats funny

Now that would make for some good sledpulling...

What we need to do next, is get 2 sleds, and drag race the trucks as their pulling the sled. That way things don't take as long.

Chris

Now we are onto something! I think this should be in the rule for 2010, yes?

Rick

WOW WHAT DOES NAVY CHIEF HAVE TO SAY ABOUT ALL OF THIS JUST NEED SOOM DIRECTION ON WHERE THIS RULE IS GOING. Talked to him about this a while back this is what he said, You are correct, there is a clause in the NADM rules that states that you MAY be required to perform a roadability test. The following is a quote from from section two of the 2009 NADM Rules:

STREETABILITY CONFORMANCE

Upon completion of the event, the technical inspector(s) may request that the first place pullers in the Work Stock and Street Diesel classes perform an on-street excursion. Time will be granted to remove weights and adjust suspension stops. The excursion shall not exceed 20 miles.

This does not mean you will always be required to perform the test, but if probable cause is noted, you may have to perform the test. If you are so heavily modified that it takes an extreme level of choreography and hands to make your unit streetable, then other means can be implemented to satisfy the streetability conformance.

So I ask him please give me an example this is what I got back,You desire an example of probable cause? Blow the next closest guy away by 80-100 feet. That is just one several examples I am referring to. Nick, I am not there to offer my opinion, simply to enforce what is in writing and ensure most importantly a safe event and that all in each class are on a level playing field. If your rig is built to within the guidelines set forth by the NADM rules, then you should not worry. If you had no issues last year, then you should have none this year. As for means of inspection, that does not concern you, only those of us who MAY have to address any issues. I have no desire to see you run your tires on the street, so build and operate within the rules of your class and have fun

DON'T TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY NAVY CHIEF JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE 2.6 STEET DIESEL CLASS.

THANKS NICK LEE

Holy crap Smokngoat, I just went blind!

So this rule has been around for a long time..........any one been on a raod test yet?

Thats what i thought..........

Nick, what are you trying to ask? Navychief answered your question in a PM..yet you still seem confused?

Nick, your truck was fine last year, wasn't it? What are you doing this year that makes you think you can't comply?
You may as well spill your guts and tell the rest of the pullers what you are doing that has you so nervous.

The rule has been in place as written since 2007.

All you guys are doing with this thread is putting targets on your back to all the other pullers.

I've seen all your trucks pull. You need to get over yourselves, awesome runners, that put on a great show, but they are not such fire breathing dragons that if need be, they couldn't go down the street.

I have owned and driven a 600+ HP truck on the street at 35 degrees of timing, lockers, 35"tires, with a 3.0 turbo bushed to 2.8, with no anaroid. It wasn't fun but it was streetable. I don't see your point.

If your truck cannot do that, go up a class.

The bottom line is we left the rules virtually the same as last year because we had NO TROUBLE, and if you build to the rules there wont be any trouble, now you guys are lighting a fire, where there need not be one.

What you saying Jeff wanna come out here to the better state. Told you come on down. Hoodstack might have to go though.

thats funny

YEA THEY SHOULD CALL IT THE JOHNNY 2 STACK I CAN DRIVE MINE TO THE PULL AND GET WAXED BY 30FT 2.6 STREET DIESEL CLASS :rockwoot:

Sledpuller I am not doing nothing beside putting a spool in so that we will not have a problem with axels. No beans to be spilled.

I did not try to get anything started by this statement, I personaly drove our truck to a truck pull last year and had no problem I was just tring to help the people understand what the rule was all about, and complie with them that is all. Sorry you took this the wrong way.

and if you build to the rules there wont be any trouble.

That answers the question Gene, point blank with no grey aera .

This may sound stupid but this was my take on this:
I built my truck following the 09' NADM rulebook under the 2.6" street diesel class, I did not want to go to a pull, hook, get called to go on a road test and (Bob or whoever rode with me) come back and say I was illegal even though I still met all of your written rules. Now with u stating that if we meet your written rules we wont have any trouble puts and end to me thinking that if my truck rides rough or is slow I will get deemed illegal. Thanks.

Oh Mech I cant wait to hook with u :evil.......
Brandon

Brandon why are you calling me out? Just because I can read and comprehend the rules as there written. :rules: Man I don't understand some of the Dodge guys being so defensive. *bdh* Maybe I should go hang out with the DMax guys. :wrong:

Thanks for the complement though. I guess I gave you something to shoot for. :thankyou2:

:kick: :hehe: :Cheer:

It's about 14* outside. Truck fired right up this morning and hauled my butt to work as it does every day. I may have to rotate my pulling tires soon, front to back.

Is that what the mean by streetable? LOL

Mech2161 i pretty sure he ment to come over an hook with u at Elkins on May 2nd.

LOL No I really think he wants to whoop me. It's all in good fun. I don't mean anything by it. Just trying to lighten up this thread.
