Pro Street 1st Gen Build Thread

Hope to see it at ts. Maybe il have something in shape to race too. What's your plans for transmission ? I seen say something bout a 47re. You planning to run a reverse vb? I'm trying to decide what I want for mine so I can look for a Trans.

It's a 47re w an rh tailshaft that way I won't have to buy new drive shafts right away and I don't have to do any modifications to my 4wd shifter and linkage. As for the valve body it is just a forward pattern manual valve body.

People complaining about trucks being down? #becauseracetruckprobs Anyway, hope you get to run it at TS this year!

I see. I'd like to build a Rh but they seem to be hard to find.

They are most certainly a viable option for street use.

That's good to know, it's nice to see companies with great reputation in the gas world step up and take a chance helping the performance diesel crowd out. Thank you!!:Cheer:

I've had some time to get some more done on the truck recently. It's hard working with my dad's schedule to get the truck from my garage to his shop garage where most of the fab work is done. For he runs a business out of it and I can't interfere with him making money. Anyhow we had a 2 week dead period and I was able to get a bit done. I finished bracing my front suspension and now I feel confident in it's strength.

Only thing left to do on the front suspension is to build my locator bar and it is 100% completed. It's looking like that will happen the 1st of the year.

After getting that done I did this...

It's not completely finished yet but it's very close. It tilts more then shown, I just propped it like this for a picture. The hood still opens like normal as well when the front clip is down in normal position. This is going to make it sooo nice to work on. It will have dzus fasteners on the side of the fender hidden by the molding (I'll explain with pictures when I get that done) and the front hinges will be pinned so the whole clip can be easily removed if needed. The lower part of the fender was cut off and that piece will stay attached to the body, so when the clip is down the only give away will be a small gap right on the bottom speed line on the fender. The bumper brackets were welded to the core support so the pumper is now part of the clip as well.
