sweet build! keep us updated.
I was about to ask if anyone had pictures of a 24v p-pump swap for a conversion until I was this thread pop up. I'm about an hours worth of work away to pull the 6 leaker, but i'm still missing parts on the cummins.
Mine didn't come with a lift pump, but I'm planning on using the stock ford pump.
Also don't have the vacuum/PS pump, so hopefully I can make up a mount to bolt up the ford PS pump.
any new updates? hows the swap going?
That looks so sick, great job on a clean swap, keep the photos coming can't wait to see it done!
I got a hotrodvp44 for sale right now on here asking 1000 shipped.
As to the OP bada$$ build I would love to own that truck. Fummins are bada$$
Matt,
Good looking truck. great looking build.
How are you going to get that 47RE to shift, are you going to use the computer from the donor or a stand alone? Manual shift kit?
The exhaust manifold- you can try flipping yours over and modding the waste gate or use a 3rd gen manifold or one from a medium duty cummins.
sweet build! keep us updated.
I have a couple of them if you want a used one. Just PM me if you do. I also have a couple 24v industrial ones too.
I was told by DCS the 6.0 pump on the frame rail would be plenty. I think the p-pump requires around 42psi and the ford pump creates around 50 psi dynamic. I could be wrong, it'd be nice to know either way.
Just FYI. That is how I am running mine, just off the Ford pump. So far on the few test drives I have made it is working fine. when it dies I will replace it with a Homemade FASS.
Out of curiosity what route did you go for controlling your 47re?
I put in a manual shift kit but the 47re is toast (bought it used for the adapter plate mostly, my motor came out of a Freightliner and had an sae #2 housing) so I am looking at getting a 47rh, it only has electronics for the O.D. and T.C. lock up, I will get a couple of hobbs switches to manage that.
Hey, what are you doin with that golf cart? oke:
On the hydraboost line, I added a flare to the ford line to go in the dodge pump. It worked pretty good. On the turbo fitment, have you tried flipping your exhaust manifold over and putting the turbo on top? That's how I did the 04 I did. It has an HX40 on it and just fits.
Matt,
The wire harness, make sure you keep the cam position sensor and the crank position sensor seperated if you are using the destroked tach kit. you need both hooked up to the kits sensor but if they are too close they will cross signals and make your tach and airconditioner act up. what is your plan for a getting a tach signal?
Are you going to run one battery or two? I only have the one on the driverside I cut the ford cable and turned it arround since the starter is now on the drivers side, another reason to stick with the 47re/rh saves room for the exhaust. also you might have a hard time with the tranny dipstick and the down pipe. I had to get a lockar flexable one from a dodge 727 tranny (IIRC) and machine it down to fit into the 47re dipstick hole.
