05 cr motor freshen up?

I am pretty disappointed with the 709 but we are very certain that some time to setup the truck for it and a little more time tuning and we should have 800+ the thing that boggles my mind is with the smarty on 7 we had 709 and 50-55psi of boost from about 3000-4200+ and held a nice flat hp curve. bumped up the programming to level 9 and lost ground with 678hp and only putting out 40 psi of boost. same flat curve but much less boost... truck was getting very hot and heat soaked so we made one more pass with my 2.5 bushing in and surprisingly only went down to 621. I was expecting alot less with the plug in it but whatever... still with only 40 psi of boost. I can't wrap my mind around how we lost 10-15 psi of boost by turning the programming up. I do have a couple of videos of it that I will post up on you tube shortly and I will put a link to them here as well...

I apologize for giving mis information but I have been told by more than one place that my setup is 850+ any day of the week... well apparently not on wed nights! I can't afford to go back to the dyno again, and probably won't be able to afford to run at the dyno day either. the stupid lost time and money at s&s performance on monday and $100. and again tonight at hi-tech another $100.00 totally blew my truck allowance for quite a while.

The tuning from 7 to 9 doesnt surprise me at all. Visit with Andy about that. A cam will make a difference there. Is your head ported at all? Are you running springs other than stock? Have you tried taking the gear lash out of the CP3? Stock CPS? Converter stall is stock?

There will also be many other variables to compare HP such as worn driveline parts, synthetic fluids or not, auto versus manual, tire size (which was probably one of your best gains in recent monthes), gear ratios, miles and wear on engine, etc etc.

Im rebuilding a couple 04.5 and up CR's next week with larger displacement, better cams, and a few other things if your interested in coming down and watching/ helping. Ill be also cutting rings and installing larger springs in them as well.

Also if your interested in doing a payment plan Id trade your engine minus your mods for one of my fresh larger displacement engines for ballpark of 1500 exchanged. Im just throwing one in a mega cab for resale so it makes me no real difference.

that was a buddy of mine brian he has the hopped up 97 f-250 7.3 that dynoed last year at hitech with us. yea it is pretty funny. truck sounds very funny at the end of a 25-30' piece of 4" pipe though. bart didn't want any smoke inside the building. he has some edelbrock video shoot on the dyno tomorrow and didn't want to have to clean it first.

head is untouched other than a set of hamilton 110 springs and billet pushrods. haven't touched the gear train. stock cps. slightly higher stall comverter and yes 35" mickey thompson mtz's are killing me! the axles have something around 100k on them. got them from kruegerlouie with 3:73's running amsoil 75-110 in the rear. and non synthetic dextron 3 in the trans. which is 2 weeks old.

wow I am a dousche! that was easy... the other site says youtube wrap or whatever I know how to do that... thanks kev!

7 always beats 9 with injectors in the mix...

900 hp will take a really fancy 88 mm wheel...and two pumps...not going to happen on a 71....lol

Didn't Drake have a 71 single when he ran 10.20 on fuel? I bet that was every bit of 900...

I'm pretty sure it has more in it. I just need to spend a little more time tuning it for the dyno. But I am going to try level 7 the next pull I go to and see what happens.

It was not fuel only...nfw. I am just saying...don't really care. Luken...you know I can tune.

The only way right now to make power on an inertia dynojet with something that big or bigger is to spray it, go stand alone, or have a dyno operator with a clue run it.

And, Well, the dyno you ran on doesn't help at all. Brian@hi-tech is a dumbass if it's not a corvette and I know josh doesn't have any real seat time on a dynojet as he told me. I peaked at 625/1000# at 3600rpm remember, and it's just a little 64 while same exact config ran 685/1400 on john's before I got that unknown to me at the time "rent a stage 4 and get a stage 2 in return" pump bolted up.

BTW, I made more torque on #9 then #7. :) same hp.

I have no idea what the tq numbers are we didn't even mess with the rpm pickup. it is too much of a pain. besides we were only really concerned with hp anyway.
yes josh was running my truck and yes he does not have very much experience running the trucks on the dyno but we figured it was better than the alternative.

I agree, Anyone, even the random elderly lady trying to make it across the street would have better luck spooling a diesel then anyone that currently works at hi-tech motor sports.

got a new number from the dyno this weekend 766/1744. jon still thinks it has more in it. but we didn't get time to switch to sw7 and come back. we had problems with the dyno computer and delayed the group for a while so I didn't get back on to try out a different level. still smokes like mad and only gets 40psi of boost.
