i hear they wont live

stick a plunger almost instantly

has anyone from this site been around when schied or who ever runs these has torn one apart?

do you know which cyl it was that went bad in their pump?

thanks, don

They work just fine, as long as injectors are sized correctly.

*bdh* I think that what you are trying to accomplish may be benificial. I also think that someone trying to achieve the horsepower levels that this mod would be benificial to would have gone to a sigma already and not have to worry about the problem you are trying to fix. If you believe that this modification would prolong barrel/plunger life, then sell the idea to Bosch. People, such as yourself, of your 'stature' or with your 'reputation' should have better things to do with their time than to ask a bunch of people on a forum if your idea will work. Call scheid. Call haisley. Call bosch. Call cummins. *bdh*

ps - it sounds like you have experience with these pumps

how many pulls or seasons do you or your customers usually get out of one of them?

These threads make me chuckle... :pop:

i was givin information

it made me think

asked a question

glad it made you laugh

how much experience do you have with a 14mm p-pump?

it will

not everyone has $14,000 for a pump / not to mention there may be others like myself that like to do more with less...or with something that looks like less

do i tell you what to sell?

do i tell you who to sell it to?

where am i asking if 'my idea' will work?

after doing a search for 14mm pumps and finding that thread the sled pullers butchered i am really regretting sharing my ideas with some of you

thanks for posting your number, what is your name?

i dont see it in your profile

don tanklage

how can that be snoopy?

glenn from ED just stated that the only people having any problems are running too small of a injector

Step Away from the Pepsi Don PLEASE STEP AWAY!!! And the 14mm pumps run good when setup and matched correctly

No, that is good, accurate info. There is more knowledge on this site, and the guys are quicker to help then any other site I've been on or to.

But the thing is, we are a band of brothers (to quote Shakespeare) and there are a few things that will impact how you are viewed on here, and by extension how much help you will get.
  • We don't take to kindly to people telling us how great and smart they are. Especially when it is all their accomplishments in other motorsports. Good for you for having done xxxxx in xxxxx. This ain't that.
  • Don't treat us like idiots when you don't recieve the help and answers you want, or think you deserve.
  • Don't post threads to ask questions so you can get info that you think will prove your new idea is brilliant. We can see what you are doing, and it's not gonna sit well with us.
  • Don't treat us like idiots, and don't expect us to respect you by default. Respect is earned. So earn it. Treating others with respect is a good start.
  • Don't attack our brothers on here. It won't set well, or endear you to us at all. That will reduce our desire to help you.

Kick ass post nick. You nailed it square on the head. Comp D is as close to the real world as you can get on the internet. Do you expect people in the real world to treat you like someone special or expect them to bow down to you when you brag about your accomplishments in life? No. So what makes you think this site is any different? We are a very helpful bunch of folks and have a huge knowledge base and 99% of people on here would go out of there way to help you. But don't expect any special treatment just because you've ridden a fast motorcycle. If you want respect and help then I suggest you eat some humble pie and bring yourself back down to reality with the rest of us.

Sir, here is one thing you need to realize about injection pumps. Bosch injection pumps, depending on the application it is intended for, uses 14mm barrels and plungers in a factory application. So, if Bosch, a multi-million dollar company with over 100 year reputation, benches a 14 millimeter pump with 1 inlet and 1 return, wouldn't you think that 'if it ain't broke don't fix it.' But I forgot, you drag race stuff. Is your name really IKE?... :D

Judging from my reading experience, Don asks genuine questions - and respects the answers given to him. Whether or not he searched the site fully before posting, I dont know. I would go so far as to say that he's not out to start a **** slinging match regarding anything.

He asked a legitimate question, but he goes about it the wrong way. He expects us to 'respect' him because of his accomplishments. I took a dump this morning. That's an accomplishment. LOL I have a truck capable of 11's. That's an accomplishment.

P.S.: This is all in good humor, by the way. I know it's impossible to tell emotion on the Internet. :Cheer:

Nick (displacedtexan) offerd you some very well written and sound advice. I would highly suggest you heed it. You'll likely get more from this board if you do.

Going past what Nick said, I'll add that if you find the people here "fuked up" and the information "bogus" then perhaps you should go elsewhere to seek fellowship and knowledge. Should this perception be repetitively voiced and conveyed in your communications with other members here I will be happy to make that choice for you.

This site is addictive, I'll admit. But should you perceive it to stand in the way of, rather than contribute to your diesel greatness (See also: prowess, fame, mojo, knowledge ect.) it does you no good to be here and you should probably move on. If addiction makes that too difficult, the moderators here have a one-click rehab program we would be happy to offer free of charge.

From the post Underwood dredged up to the one here today, consider yourself moments from an 'intervention.'
