Ive been working on this project for the past six months.
found a 1939 dodge 1.5 ton cab pieced it together with some 41 front fenders a 39 nose and unknown year hood.
next came the donor truck bought a 96 2wd longbed single cab 5speed 12v cummins. I quickly parted out the truck and started the cab fitment process.
the cab is now mounted along with front sheet metal.
Fitting 6 different panels to line up is a pain.
engine and trans went in next I moved it back 10.5 inches and down 1 inch. the rear cyl is behind the firewall.
and yes it all fits
Now im on radiator fitment had a griffin radiator built as large as I can possibly fit in the narrow hood hopefully it will be enough to cool in the az heat.

I have heard of a lower radiator hose bracket that points the inlet forward instead of to the passenger side does anyone have any info on this or part number or has one sitting on the shelf.

also im having trouble posting pics im computer dumb but will hopefully figure it out

heres some pics not sure how to make them full size

This is how you make the picture appear big.

I like seeing projects like this. Nothing like taking old iron and re-powering it from the future.

more pics body fitment and the donor truck that was running when I bought it

I'm diggin that! Keep us posted. I've seen some different threads around that have had some different t-stat options but don't remember which ones. Snedge on here is a Cummins dealer he knows whats available.

I missed the question on housings. I'll check the Ford parts I have laying in the garage.

radiator installed starting to get some rust from all this rain.

heres how the motor sets back into the cab looks like most of the rear cyl is behind the firewall
also got the booster mounted

im still a ways off from starting on steering but am starting to think about it ill use the stock box but as far as the column goes could I use the 39 column and wheel and just cut the splined section off the donor trucks column and weld it to the 39 column? Id like to keep this thing as close to 1939 look as possible but also be safe. any input would be great

Bevel the shaft, get a sleeve that slides over the shaft, weld the shaft, slide the sleeve over the joint, weld the sleeve, it'll be fine.

Going to be a sweet ride I miss my 46chevy pickup
I would have went with hydro boost brakes sure gives you more room.not telling you what to do.
