1939 dodge gets a cummins 12v

believe it or not the stock brake set up fits under the hood just fine. a smaller booster might have allowed me to lower the body on the chassis a bit more but im sure it would cause clearance issues somewhere else.

speaking of brakes since im only running minimal wiring how will the brakes work since there wont be abs wiring or do I need wire something up for the abs obviously this is my first project of this magnitude learning as I go.

You could just eliminate anything related to the abs set up. It will work just like normal brakes.

look up dually bandit on youtube, its one of my good buddys were setting up a 35 over 3b on it right now ill try to get some photos up, im building a 47 ih 4x4 hoping to be putting 700 to the wheels alot of similar characteristics as the dually but 4x4 and im running 22.5s not 19.5s

found a longbox rear fenders and a second set of running boards. rear fenders will need a lot of work to fit the tires Ive lowered the bed 2 inches down onto the frame since this pic.

When I installed my motor i just installed it level but today I ran into a guy who said it should have been installed leaning back about 5-7* everything is just heavy tacked in place so easily changed. Whats the proper way?

It depends how you need it for your driveshaft, but I haven't seen any engine actually sit level. My Cummins' end up with about 1/4-1/2" rake towards the rear.

cut out the crazy floor the previous owner built and cut up the stock trans crossmember and used the parts to build a new one.

Definitely in on this one! Looks sweet. I have similar plans for a 39 International. Are you reinforcing the stock frame at all?

Thanks! If your asking about the 39 frame I didnt use it. I used the 96 2500 frame and moved the engine back 10.5 inches didnt reinforce anything figured what these things can handle stock will be more than ill throw at it.

Ok after some minor research hydroboost is looking better and better it will allow me to lower the body an additional few inches that the vaccume booster is holding back. What all will i need to complete the set up just a hydroboost set up and arm to pedal assembily from a 97? and use my stock master cyl? Any advice or a link would be appreciated ill continue my searching

anyone have any ideas on either a smaller vacuum boost or hydroboost set up I lowered the body 3 inches and now the stock vacuum booster wont fit.

had a one piece driveshaft cut and threw it in and was able to drive the truck under its own power no floor or brakes or radiator installed but did go up and down the road.

finished floor frame work finally decided on a ride height and fully welded in my body mounts. Got an intercooler with intakes on both sides to mount infront of the radiator and mounted it all up. everything fits but clearance is less than a half inch everywhere.
