1951 Cockshutt 30–1.9L TDI Swap

Just cheap stuff from Princess Auto. Their stuff tends to be hit or miss. I was a bit iffy on it, but I gave it a shot anyway before spending more on something that I’d have to ship. In the end it worked OK.
 
I was pretty burnt out after everything so I forgot to get a picture of this last night.
The only thing I did today (aside from cleaning up) was test fit the new battery box. They don’t make new battery boxes for the Cockshutts so this one came from an Allis-Chalmers—hence the orange. I’ll have to make my own hold-down for it, but that’s pretty easy. It will need some extra holes drilled into it as well since this tractor will have dual batteries.

I asked about that when I had them go through the starter. He said they’re not really voltage specific; they’ll run whatever you put through them. The more juice you give it, the faster it’ll go until it burns up.

As long as the engine starts quickly it should last a long time.
