2nd gen Turbonetics setup on my CR

According to Steve @ Turbonetics, my T-23791 (aka, 11244) Is identical to the one you got in your 15182 kit, except yours has the universal T-4 flange. Performance charicteristics should be identical.
Specs are: 66mm ported shroud cold side, 68mm S trim (F1-68) hot side,
84A/R divided.
(sorry for the hijack)
Who's header is that, Forrest ? ??

definately not a hijack, I'm interested in how these turbos are working on other trucks! :)

the header is the Polydyne that HotRodDiesels and Greg Hogue are selling.

oh, and FWIW, I'm going to throw an MP8 on it, but Brett and I are going to talk to Turbonetics and I might try a .70 housing on it

Any way I could get you to try a drivepressure gauge with the current .84 housing and then with the .70:poke::Cheer:

I have a 70 housing here, but never tried it...because it was T-4. they were working on getting me a T-3 70ar, but we got sidetracked with the idea of twins. Get some good baseline numbers w/ the one you have & I'll send you this one to test.

You talking to Forrest or myself? If Forrest doesn't take you up on that I may just be very interested in trying it! Since i've installed my AD150 i'm not using my fuel pressure gauge any more perhaps I will move it to drive pressure duty and see what I get with the .84 housing and then get back with you. It only goes up to 60 psi but I'm only seeing about 48 psi out of my charger now so I'm thinking drive won't be over that. Time will tell.

Both of you are welcome to try it. It would be nice to see drive pressure, boost, and EGT's.

well y'all need to get together and findout what works best so the rest of us can get everything done right the first time:poke: this is the turbo i have wanted for a while and i get my tax return soon:rockwoot:

IMHO...for a 600HP street single, the T-23791 (aka, 11244) is going to be hard to beat. (11.40 @ 52psi fuel only in a 6000lb truck, with very good response on the street. ) I played with several diferent setups & the best, by far is the way this one comes out of the box.

I'm game man! I need to address the drive pressure gauge and take care of a leak on the number 6 primary. After that I could get some numbers for sure!

dangit, I ordered the housing earlier today! LOL! I ordered a divided T4 so that it would be plug and play, but if it works out decent, I'll be good w/ that

Nick, I'm planning on doing before/after drive pressure readings.

the truck sounds killer... the turbine sounds sick out of the tailpipe... 10 blade wheel. reminds me of the 71mm Borg Warner wheels, but might be even louder?

the 6 blade compressor sounds insane

the exhaust note is VERY smooth, but I guess the bigger outlet on the turbo has given the truck more interior resonance. might finally be time to install the sound deadener! :o

Is your .84 T3 a different euro design housing that looks different then the normal housings exterior.

It looks normal to me. I kind of got the impresion that they refer to all
T-3's as euro style. (?)

2 shots of the 70a/r T-4 over my 84a/r T-3:

Looks like the outlet flange on the t4 .70a/r housing is bigger in diameter but hard to tell from that picture. Also the "snail shell" seems to be a bit more tapered with your t3 housing vs the .70 housing but maybe that's the difference of a/r between the two. In any event like I said Matt i'm very interested in trying the two housings (my .84a/r t4 vs that .70a/r t4) so pm me if you want to work something out! Thanks!

Nick
