389 glider build

What's not to like about complete inframes on an 855 every 400k? Or maybe it's the ability to do it in a weekend in a truckstop parking lot. LoL

Lol buddy said he knew a guy who replaced one of the heads on a KT under an overpass. However the same kid replaced a burnt piston on a C15 in a parking lot at Antrims then put down 1100hp. No way I'm that motivated!

I ran into this ole boy running a 78 International cabover he'd bought brand new. His solution was a spare engine in the garage at home. Soon as it showed signs of goin out he'd swap motors and go. Rebuild repeat.

Should know more this week.

Caterpillar gliders are an official reality.
Same rules apply as usual.
You have to provide one of the 3 major power train components. An engine purchased from Caterpillar has to be purchased 180 days before the glider can be ordered. Engines have to be 1998 or newer (Tier 2 and up?) Engine cert if sourced from a dealer.
I'm unclear on the engines available. My foreman rattled off 6nz, MBN and MXS engines as being available. I think this is false and bet that the current production Australian engines will be the offerings. Navistar is already utilizing those engines for that market, and this should streamline production.
