----- What would net me an additional 70 HP????? Cam? port and polish? different top turbo? Adrenaline?

I need an extra 70HP to run 12.0 Quick Diesel.

I have SO VP w/50K, custom Mach 7+, 6blade/60mmHX40 - 74mm b2 Twins, reflashed ECM, Drag Comp box, BD RAD, newer stock head, stock cam, 238K on short block, 3.55 gears.

I race with stock 265 tires with best of 1.67 60' times and best ET of 12.43@108.1mph. race weight of 7150lbs. According to the HP calculator I need an additional 70HP to run 12.0@111.2+......

Trucks with similar mods are running high 11's and I don't know where I'm missing out on the extra pony's.

so you feel that the HX 40 on top is hurting peak HP? I'm not disagreeing just wandering if anyone has made the switch and noticed a difference?

Smarty and Water/Meth

smarty stacked with my drag comp made 8HP less then just the comp.... never tried water/meth and would prefer to do it on fuel, but if it comes down to it i wouldn't be scared of water/meth.

whats the most power ever gained with a water/meth setup on a 600HP application? From what I have witnessed at dyno events its 5-10HP on 400HP trucks.

Monster pump? CTD8999 went from 670 to 759. Thats 89HP. Every set up will be different though..

I would look at ways to get more fuel. The 40 over S400 should be enough air for 12 flat.

I'm scared of the monster pump since I put over 40K a yr. on my truck but yeah I think fuel is somehow my limiting factor.

You've got the mods for the fuel so just clean/ replace the iats and apps sensors and adjust the tps so the voltage matches the label on the sensor.

I'll let others comment on the air, but my experience has been that drive pressure kills top end power. Obviously nitrous and possibly water/meth could get you there too if you're head is properly secured =)

What are my realistic options? Industrial's Dragon Fire VP44 or monster pump? remember I run my concrete business with it putting 40K a yr. on the truck so mileage and driveability is a must.

FASS right? What is your sustained fuel pressure? Is 581hp your current?

35psi @ idle...28psi @ WOT this is per Dons recommendation that the Mach 7++ have made 7HP more at 28psi vs. 15psi on the dyno.
581HP is the highest I have dynoed but haven't spun the roller since upgrading my HX40 from a 8blade 56mm to a 6blade 60mm compresser and getting my Mach 7's upgraded to Mach 7++. Also when I dynoed 582HP I was running 12.43@104.9 with 4.10 gears and now with 3.55 gears and my upgrades I run 12.43@108

Loose weight.

Where? I have gone as far as removing reese hitch, back seat, tailgate, spare tire, and a empty cab.

Not a realistic option because of cost involved and I really like the driveabiltiy of my VP... I can daily drive 600HP without smoking the whole town. Also because others have done it with the VP then I know it can be done, just wondering what I'm missing.

That would do it BUT I daily drive the truck and I like my turbo's in one piece. I would need to fab up a external wastegate before I would do it. Other VP trucks have done it on fuel...why not me :)

tell me more on this... My AIT and MAP sensors are 1.5yrs old, my TPS is a used unit off of Ebay so don't know the age... If I brake clean my AIT and Map sensor will that do it or how can I accurately test them to make sure they are up to specs... also anyone have the link with instructions for voltage calibration on the tps? I did it a few years ago on my dad's truck but forget the exact instructions.

Keep the input rolling, I'm listening to all ideas.

Easiest way and cheapest way to gain the needed ET is put the truck on a diet or find a lighter wheelman.By my rough calculations if your truck ddoes weigh in at the stated 7150lbs to get into the flat 12's you need to loose about 900lbs.You have to keep in mind to net the amount of HP needed to get 4 tenths it would cost you a huge amount of money. Its far more cost effiecnt to loose the weight and hook the truck harder than to search for HP in the drivline.JMO.......Andy

A high ram intake and intercooler would probabilly free up some horsepower. Not 70 but it would get you closer...
