70 More Horsepower

"That would do it BUT I daily drive the truck and I like my turbo's in one piece. I would need to fab up a external wastegate before I would do it. Other VP trucks have done it on fuel...why not me :)"

Oh...ok. What about stickers and stacks. Alot of people think that adds 100 hp.:bang.

Seriously though, what about gear vendors o/d? It might help lower your time.

Now..I thought that this idea was a Ford thing to go along with their other saying...."If it can not make power, lift it and chrome it".....LOL....Andy

I have looked a there units on a display booth and it looks good but have not heard of many people that have them on the Dodge Auto trucks... anyone have any experience with them??

A high ram intake and inter cooler would probably free up some horsepower. Not 70 but it would get you closer...

I have a CoolTwist inter cooler as listed in my sig. and have considered fabbing a high flow intake horn, but like you stated it won't make more then 5-10HP difference max.

Bigger sticks will be a help, let me know if you want to try some.

You have an injector that's bigger that still has reasonable street manners? If you want back to back comparison of your injector vs. Don's, I would be more than willing to do same day dyno testing.

6 x .013??? what size

Also, could a low stall TQ converter be eating HP? Would a converter with a higher stall posibly increase ET? My converter seems really tight but don't have any problem spooling the twins.

Hot Rod vp44. You have big enough injectors, I'm betting you're running out of fuel from the vp. I make 580 rwhp on fuel only with mach 4's so mach 7's should make a heck of a lot more power.

its been said that a hot rod pump and mach 4's are similar fuel to SO pump and mach 6's. but anything after 600 is usually made by SO pumps. Not saying that Hot Rod's don't do it but many SO pumps have made 650HP.

ahh... have you ever dynoed then back to back with mach 7 etc.?

Lavon

Might talk to warpig. I think he ran mid 11's with Mach's and a vp.

You need more air and I would check drive pressure. You might want to try a little taller tire and are you running a lockup switch.

I'm using a lockup switch in 2nd, 3rd and OD. it gains me 3mph in the 1/4. Taller tire... what would you recommend to try for 111-112mph?? 33"?(285)

So I see you have a bigger twin setup, slightly smaller injectors, and a cam which I don't have. What is your best time/mph??

Knock off the radiator fan get like 1 horsepower. 1 down 69 to go!

Bingo!! One step at a time.

I am familiar with his setup. he ran 11.9's@107 with 4.10 gears and 285's

Steve B ran 11.6's@117 IIRC with a 66 and Mach 6+ with water/meth. He runs a drag comp for fueling.

^^^ I know he did and that's why I can't figure out what he did different. My Twin setup should have more air than his 66mm, I run the same drag comp, basically same injectors with mine supposed to be bigger. but no water/meth.

I do think he has a cam though. Maybe I should try a Water/meth setup and see if it makes a difference.

That has been my experience also. As far as the sensors, we just used brakecleen. The TPS has a voltage printed on the back that you match at the harness or PCM- I forget which wire, but its easy to search for it =)

What I do know is that my truck gained nearly 50 hp swapping from a 64/65/14 to a 62/71/14 and I attribute this to the lower drive pressure. That's why I'm thinking all you probably need is a housing or wastegate change. Again I'll defer to others on the specifics of the twins tuning. What's your drive pressure look like? I just removed the pyro and temporarily used a fitting and some copper tubing (coming into the passenger window =X) to a pressure guage to check mine.

hmmm... I checked drive pressure a year ago before I upgraded my HX40 and It was nearly one to one all the way through. Except for WOT I couldn't read since my boost was at 70psi and my drive pressure gauge was only a 60psi gauge... I have access to borrow a 100psi gauge, I should put it on again and moniter what my drive pressures are doing. I just assumed that if its near 1 to 1 0-60psi that it couldn't be far off at WOT.

I believe I have a 16cm housing on the HX40... would I need to go smaller or bigger to lower drive pressure??

bigger exhaust housing is less restrictive which = lower DP.

Steve has a H2. Low 12's and high 11's are common place with 7's and SO VP's.

What are your boost numbers? Between stages and overall.
