8.3L Cummins Transplant

Sleep is over rated, 6 hours of sleep each night! You need to cut that a half lazy bones or at lease get it down to 4 hours.

Bingo this is what I do, 4hrs of sleep a night 6 on the weekends. Never tired, never drink coffee.

Winters are a little more sleep as the only 8hr of sun screws with my sleep.

Well, momma told me I could put a Kelderman air ride and the long bed on my Dodge....but stipulated that I have to finish the dump truck first. She didn't specify how finished. The quest to get it running enough to back out of the shop under its own power is on! LOL

About damn time!

It really shouldn't take an ultimatum from momma bear for me to do stuff....but if that's what it takes... LOL

I do agree though...I really do need the shop space to do frame work. It would suck otherwise. She's right...as usual. :hump:

So what, like Christmas time or so?! That'll be your present to yourself, finally starting on your long bed swap!

Hopefully not Christmas. Really all I need to do is hyd lines, power steering lines, fuel lines, throttle cable, a few wires, and the radiator and water lines. They are all little things it seams but everything from here on out has to be custom built/sized/adapted etc.

So, if you get it running enough to do the long bed swap on the mega, what are you going to drive to work when the mega is in the shop? We all know that will be more than a weekend project at the rate this one is going...

I have a buddy 3 miles away that has 4 pickups. :D

Thanks for the support. LOL

And during the summer, momma and I commute together since the kids are at daycare and not school. I imagine the frame mod will start on a Friday night, go through Sunday. Then I'll take Monday off, load it on a flat bed, and take it to have a drive shaft made/modified. I'll let them measure it on the truck. Lowers the risk that way. I'm sure I'll drive it bedless for a week or so after until I get the frame extended. Using the Kelderman with longer arms to move the axle, the frame extension will all be done behind the springs/gooseneck hitch. I can drive it while I work on getting the frame extended to add the rec hitch and rear bumper put back on it.

Jeez man, I started on this 8.3 swap last Saturday, just working on it in the evenings. :poke:

Just giving you a hard time.

Pretty sure I'm half the fabricator you are, Brad. :D

I think I should throw a Comp D party, serve cold beer and BBQ, and invite a bunch of you to my house....in your work clothes. :rockwoot:

im betting it would be cheaper and smarter to just hire the job out than to do that...and less to clean up

I wish I hadn't already taken my 10 year vacation allotment this winter...that could be fun...

Just put it in 4wd and drive it. :)
