knowing my luck just me and bean will show, rest of the heavyweights would stay home

i think kentucky was the first time i have ever pulled an 8500 class! i have been around to.

sounds like some of these guys have a ton of weight added on. "air horns" come on!(kinda sounds like me having to weigh 8500lbs, which i didnt) 8000lbs. you either have wheel base advantage, or you have ballast advantage

My point exactly House. ALLL these 8500 pound trucks, and 1 will show, yet we are expected to change the rules because "EVERYONE" else is going to it.

I used to hook in a 6800 Street Open, not a big deal to take off some parts.

However, you show and I'll let you hook, and you still get 50/50!!!LOL!!

If they do decide to do a Fat Boy class, you might look into picking up Jenny Craig as a sponsor.

I'm not sure how you took it but I thought he was just making a joke about the TV show 'The Biggest Loser" where large people competed to lose the most weight. So he said Fords could do that - compete to lose the most weight.

I don't see it as a jab on Fords saying they lose the most pulls, therefore they can start their own class for the losers, like it seems you have taken it. ;)

That was my take anyways. Still kinda silly but not the same as saying all the Fords suck and can start a class of their own for the biggest loser or suckiest truck.

yes thats the way i ment it
just like to see everybody compete to win!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rules:

we pull an 04 long bed 4door POS/PSD and have to pull the tailgate, spere tire, back seat, and back bumper to make 8K. but the truck has 2 sets of air horns 6 air tankes, compresor, huge stack setup(up the outside), monster stearo system, and everthing but the kitchen sink pilled inside, and a 300+ pound front bumper. it sucks but the truck did make 8k easy stock so quit crying and find another excuse why you cant compete with the Dodges

It all depends how bad you wanna pull, either you have a pulling/play truck or a work truck. I think for Indy, you could make an exception and strip it out at home best you can. Then drive over there to pull, that way your not busting your a$$ in the pits, or why dont you pull a trailer with your other stuff on it. Like I said, how bad do you wanna pull?

sure you can do the above but you need to buy a trailer, need to strip, need to have another truck to pull trailer, need to reinstall stripped items---that's a crock of bull for the guy who wants to pull on a limited budget---even just the strip down and reinstall is to much---some like me am a one way pit crew and no way in 'ell am or can I strip and reinstall everything needed to get down to 8000lbs---the breakage **** is just that ****---again build it so that it won't break--a lot cheaper than buying all the equipment above--give us a class--quit making excuses--we have it out here they have it in the northwest---like stated you don't have to hit the max weight to pull---quit acting like god---adapt and help out----there that ought to get sleddy's ire up-----chris

here's more food for thought what about the 6.7's or other manufacturer's trucks with bigger motors when they make power--you going to exclude them also??? it's ok sleddy be a man and step up and help the DHRA see the light---chris

i dont think the guys that actually make the pulls complain about the weight....i could be wrong. i understand you dont have to weigh the max, but if your crying about stripping to make weight, crying about finding other trucks and trailers, and crying about breaking.....pulling isnt your sport, better off to stop now

Yep! I agree. O, and 8000lb. is plenty, keep it that way.

Damn, everyone gettin fired up!

I will find a way to pull, that doesnt mean that I cant get on here and ***** about havin to strip my truck down to do it. As more and more late models come into pulling that wiegh more the more this will be an issue.

8,500 pounds

What's the big deal about raising the limit from 8,000 to 8,500. They are starting to do that around here. As I said before my truck is about 8,400 with a full tank of fuel. I don't have any heavy bumpers or air horns etc. If I was to come to Indy and pull I can't just strip it and drive over there pull and go back and put it on. I'm not driving my truck all that way with all that stuff missing or bust my a$$ there to remove it just to pull for fun.....:umno: :badidea: It has nothing to do with how bad I want to pull, thats BS...:blahblah1: ..It's about my truck is what it is. I should be able to pull it how it runs down the street. If I win I win, but if I lose I'm not going to whine that the Dodges are cheaper to build up and its not fair etc. It's not my fault the other truck brands don't build a truck with real 3/4-1 ton frame and rears not a cheap IFS setup etc........LOL :poke: I guess the Dodges are scared of a little 500 pounds.... If they are as bad  as they say they are then it shouldn't matter. This kind of whining about(His truck is 500 lbs heavier and its not fair) is the reason the rules get more strick and take all the fun out of it....LOL :poke:

Yes I'm a Ford guy but I'm not blind. I think Ford builds the best Truck chassis, but the cummins is one of the best motors, just the rest of the truck falls apart around it. GM has one of the best trans.(Allison), but the IFS is junk. We just need a Ford with a Cummins, and a Allison. I wish I could get a baby Cat in there.....:rockwoot: O well enough of me rambling.......:soap: ......:thankyou2: This is just my $.02
