BowtiedCTD said:how can the lightest dually out there be 7500??? mine weighes in at 6900.... and that is witha Cummins in it instead of the 454 that it came with. and my brothers crew cab long box SRW weighs 8460 with a 1/4 tank of fuel and NO driver.... so how is 8000 middle grounds? he doesnt even have many add ons and when it was weighed it didnt have the tool box. so try to strip weight froma stock truck, means he would have to remove almost everything that came from the factory that isnt vital to it running and that would make it not safe to drive

McRat said:Yo.
I never said the heaviest dually is a Chevy. I said the heaviest Chevy is <7500lb delivered weight.
A Cummins weighs more than a BBC by about 200lb.
No, your brother's SRW Chevy DOES NOT weigh 8460 stock. That's 1300lb over stock. I have one. It weighed 7120 with the window sticker on it.

As I was coming off the scale at Thunder in Muncie 02 STRIPPED for the 7200 pound class(but I had all my weights on)
Bill Kondolay said to me, "How can you make weight with all that iron on the front, and we have to strip?"
"I don't have a stereo like Stefans, Bill."
ROFLMAO!! Second by 3 feet-I won the 8000 class a bit later, after I weighted up to....7800. Hehhehehehehehwned:
Honestly, fellas we want eveyone to come hook, but if you just want to go have fun and see what you truck will do at 11.500 go to your local brush pull.
We are a sanctioning body, Just like NTPA, NASCAR, etc, albeit on a smaller scale. We have rules, that were designed off the majority of the trucks pulling , and 4 paying classes. 2 Exhibition classes. More classes will be added, as participation dictates.
My money is on I dont see any fat trucks at Indy, or the other pulls. Therefore, no participation, no class.

By the way it's the big speaker that makes all the bass in your music.....So that would make the sub-woofer box the box it is mounted in............Is that simple enough of a explanation?
McRat said:Oh, one of those devices that makes sub-audible freq racket that is very popular in Oakland and Compton?
Yeah, I knew a guy who had a 200lb one in his Camaro and would take it out every time at the drag races.
Never could figure out why you need 20 hz sound when you can only hear 200hz at best. But I can't figure out why cellphones play mario's space ninja games either.
Getting old I suppose.

oh so you're the one that drives like the friggin maniac? I thought they never wrote you old people tickets...maybe it's just those that drive the caddys and the grand marquis that don't get the tickets:kick:McRat said:Not sure I've ever driven 20 under, and have the tickets to back it up!
bbunting said:The simple answer is the rules are based around the trucks that compete for the win-Dodges. They are lightweights, so 8k is easy for them.
I'm the perfect example of someone pulling with a truck I like, not something that started out as a POS. Like Sleddy says-nobody told you to bring a CC, 172" WB, dually.
That said, it is now completely stripped of all amenities to make 8k-no bumper, tailgate, A/C, rear seat, stereo, front seats are plastic, no more gooseneck hitch, etc.
If you want to pull DHRA, you have to make weight. Most of the trucks in "Street" are purpose built pulling trucks. This isn't the local hilljack run what ya brung hook.
