8000lb diesel classes: A thing of the past!

how can the lightest dually out there be 7500??? mine weighes in at 6900.... and that is witha Cummins in it instead of the 454 that it came with. and my brothers crew cab long box SRW weighs 8460 with a 1/4 tank of fuel and NO driver.... so how is 8000 middle grounds? he doesnt even have many add ons and when it was weighed it didnt have the tool box. so try to strip weight froma stock truck, means he would have to remove almost everything that came from the factory that isnt vital to it running and that would make it not safe to drive

Yo.

I never said the heaviest dually is a Chevy. I said the heaviest Chevy is <7500lb delivered weight.

A Cummins weighs more than a BBC by about 200lb.

No, your brother's SRW Chevy DOES NOT weigh 8460 stock. That's 1300lb over stock. I have one. It weighed 7120 with the window sticker on it.

Yeah, a srw chevy stock weighing 8k+??? I think someone has been drinking the bong water.

Back in the day story!!!!!

As I was coming off the scale at Thunder in Muncie 02 STRIPPED for the 7200 pound class(but I had all my weights on)

Bill Kondolay said to me, "How can you make weight with all that iron on the front, and we have to strip?"

"I don't have a stereo like Stefans, Bill."

ROFLMAO!! Second by 3 feet-I won the 8000 class a bit later, after I weighted up to....7800. Hehheheheheheh:owned:

Honestly, fellas we want eveyone to come hook, but if you just want to go have fun and see what you truck will do at 11.500 go to your local brush pull.

We are a sanctioning body, Just like NTPA, NASCAR, etc, albeit on a smaller scale. We have rules, that were designed off the majority of the trucks pulling , and 4 paying classes. 2 Exhibition classes. More classes will be added, as participation dictates.

My money is on I dont see any fat trucks at Indy, or the other pulls. Therefore, no participation, no class.

I will be there Sleddy but down at 8k to pull street. I have put her on a diet this week and hope I can get it down. If enough guys show up I will throw the subs and back seat back in and pull in your heavy wieght class too. I want to hook this biatch as much as possible cause I need teh experiance.

The reason I am griping is cause I have pulled in KY and around here and never have to strip it, DHRA I pull couple times a year and have to strip it down. I will do it but dont mean I aint got the right to gripe. :shake: Its all in good fun. Another one of my gripes is everyone is saying that if I want to pull then make it a pull truck and strip it, well I am pulling in STREET class and I drive it everyday. So we are back to it being a Street class or a dedicated puller class.

Either way I will show and pull.:rockwoot:

WTF is a SubWooferBox? The snatch on a submariner's female dog?

If you don't know what a sub-woofer is you really need to crawl out from under your rock more.....:poke: ....:hehe: LOL .... By the way it's the big speaker that makes all the bass in your music.....So that would make the sub-woofer box the box it is mounted in............Is that simple enough of a explanation?

Like I said a tin can on wheels.........With a crappy IFS......:poke: :hehe: LOL .....So if you add a set of real solid axles, a real suspension....probably a good 1,000 pounds. So you could be right. I don't know for sure but I will do some checking. My Buddy owns one, and is the service manager for the local dealership.

Local brush pull??? Designed for the majority of trucks pulling? So the majority of the pullers are Chevys and Dodges??? I think what he is saying that a bunch of us need to show up and be overweight and not be able to pull. To prove we are really out here. Then they will change the rules....:blahblah1: ..Yeah right.....LOL :hehe:....Was that story before or after you realized you bought the wrong truck?????....Gas guzzling V-10........:hehe: LOL :poke:

basically big boys...you're screwed...get fiberglass fenders and hood and pray to god they don't thump em to see if they are metal. but other than that...pull exhibition cuz it don't sound like the man is gonna bend the rules until ya'll show him the light

I am the diesel tech for United Pullers in Idaho/Utah area. Like Gene said, the rules are based on the people that show up to the meetings and show up to a majority of the pulls. If you want to pull weighing more than 8k then you pull exhibition. You want to get serious and compete you build your truck to fit in the rules. Weight makes a big difference...even 500lbs.

I guarantee that if the overweight exhibition class starts getting more than 1 or 2 trucks at every pull the weight limit might get changed.

Also.. a FULL tank of fuel weighs almost 300lbs. Don't fill it up before you pull.

Ill be in indy , i am gona strip the truck to try to make 8k, if it dosent i am screwed , why pull exhbtion if ill be the only truck...makes no since to make one more pass for show only on a 2k$ clutch

The simple answer is the rules are based around the trucks that compete for the win-Dodges. They are lightweights, so 8k is easy for them.

I'm the perfect example of someone pulling with a truck I like, not something that started out as a POS. Like Sleddy says-nobody told you to bring a CC, 172" WB, dually.

That said, it is now completely stripped of all amenities to make 8k-no bumper, tailgate, A/C, rear seat, stereo, front seats are plastic, no more gooseneck hitch, etc.

If you want to pull DHRA, you have to make weight. Most of the trucks in "Street" are purpose built pulling trucks. This isn't the local hilljack run what ya brung hook.

Oh, one of those devices that makes sub-audible freq racket that is very popular in Oakland and Compton? :D

Yeah, I knew a guy who had a 200lb one in his Camaro and would take it out every time at the drag races.

Never could figure out why you need 20 hz sound when you can only hear 200hz at best. But I can't figure out why cellphones play mario's space ninja games either.

Getting old I suppose. ;)

Old fogies....:bang at least you don't drive 20 under in the fast lane with your blinker on do you pat?:hehe:
