84 Chevy Crew Cab 12v Conversion

The frame sat level before I put the dana 60 in the truck. So it raised the front some when I put it in. So i decided to do a shackle flip on the rear of the truck. I used the rear front mounts that where on the frame when it was 2wd. I will be adding some extra bracing to them from the bottom of the frame.

Cool deal man, I did the shackle flip on my truck to :)
I couldn't find any lift springs close by lol

Go BIG Or Go Home!! ?

Well im actually just going to leave it the way it is for now. I wanted to do the 8" lift but after a while I think it would kinda get old and I like the stance the truck has now.

As long as you like it, that's all that matters :)
Besides, it'll still be bad a$$, it will be a CHUMMINS ;)

Work on the truck some more today. Started out with a cardboard template of the cross member and finally made it into steel.

Also went ahead and cut the cross members that my goose neck will be mounted to.

I think I am going to go ahead and box the frame all the way to the back once I get the cross members for the goose neck and also figure out how im going to mount my fuel tank in the rear.

I'm going to use a 40 gallon suburban tank. I hate the way the dual tanks where setup so I wanted one big tank. The filler might be interesting to figure out but I'll figure out something.

Looks great man, wish I had the time to do something similar to my el camino but with a 4BT

Looking good with fuel tank in the rear helps take weight off front end.

Thanks man! That sounds like that would be a cool project. :rockwoot:

That is true, the rear of this truck seems like it is going to be light compared to the front. I doubt I will ever really fill up the tank for a while but having the 40 gallon capacity will be nice if I ever have to do a long drive.

Well got the engine cross member done and got it bolted in today.

The sleeves for the bolts are longer on the drivers side to get the mounting plate back behind the motor mount bolt so that I can remove the mounts without having to remove the cross member.
