Any new trucks gonna be at TS?

the 2.6 class is far from a street driven class anymore, Yes some of these trucks could be driven on the street, but who are yoiu kidding most of these guys dont. all but a small handfull of em are trailer queens, and if ya wanna come in here in a tout how you drive your 2.6 truck everyday on the street and its a true street truck. My money bets that you wouldnt hold a candle to the top ten maybe even the top 20 at a national event. 2.6 class in a brush pull in the middle of iowa (not picking on you guys directly) Is alot diffrent then the 2.6 class in in, oh, ky and parts of Missouri. These guys are making the power that the 2.8 guys were making 4 years ago, and the power that open trucks were making back when i got into this back in 2001. The technology has jumped leaps and bouds and in the process, lots of parts have been broken.

I for one have had tons of convertor problems at a power level that many of the se 2.6 guys are getting into now, and i actually looke into doing a clutched auto 3 years ago, but was unable to find anyone familure with it and my budget wasnt thier. These modified trannies were built out of nesecity and i am glad that Dan put the money out thier and figured it out. Saying that a danco tranny is illegal in my mind is no diffrent then saying a ats 5star convertor is not legal. or a south bend triple isnt legal, and i know lots of 2.6 guys running both of them

2.6 is no longer an entry level class And is not refered to as work stock anywhere near here any longer. WorkStock class is your entry level class, and ya better bring 550-600 to the table to even stand a chance here anymore

very true, a guy here in northern ky is building a VERY up to par 3.0 truck and at the same time he and a friend are using alot of the same parts to build a 2.6 truck. people are serious around here. and most of all everyone should remember.... sledpulling is a luxury, not an existance, so before you complain about all the money you spend to just get beat by a guy with deeper pockets, remember, nobody is making you do it.

Build it to the rules and if it passes then good and if you have 200k in it then oh well it's your money. There was over 100 trucks in the 2.6 class at scheids 2009 and I bet there will be more this year. Just because a truck is blinged out and has over 100k in it don't mean it is going to compete. Just like He said^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ no one is making you do it.

Your right we dont have 2.6 we have 2.5:hehe:. Maybe they just dont drive 10hrs out east to pull with you guys.

Alot of these 2.6 trucks started out as brand new 50k trucks that were not bought to be a dedicated puller but as a daily driver with a few mods and they could compete with them and have fun. That was 4 or 5 years ago and over the years you keep putting more and more money in it to try and stay competitive and before you know it you have a dedicated puller that you can't hardly drive on the street, but you allready have so much invested that you can't afford to sell it and start over with a cheaper truck. If I were to just know start pulling I would by a cheap piece of crap and build it to compete at the level you have to have now for the 2.6 class basically what a 2.8 truck was a few years ago.

It's nothing special really, just som3 fuel and air. Hoping to have a vid tommorow once we get the motor in and running.

The winner of 2.6 Scheid in 09 was Dan Musselman who is probably the cheapest SOB i know and he has no headwork, an S4 a 180 pump and the motor hasnt been touched in like 4 seasons and the auto is pretty standard stuff to and that truck started out as about 3 trucks put together. It is definitly a budget built truck. Its nothing special at all but Dan is a heck of a driver and probably pulls as much as anyone I know. You dont have to have a ton of money to have a winning truck. Heres what the truck started out as a bunch of parts laying around that turned into something pretty nice and he has less then 15k in the whole truck.

Thats why I said if I had it to over again I would start with a piece of junk 12v instead of a 50k commonrail but i've got to much invested in it to turn back now and thats the way it is with alot of the commonrail pullers.

I know what your saying my 03 is going to be a pulling truck as soon as the dually is done being put together and I started out with a truck with 48k on on it. Its got 143k on it now but is still a dang nice truck and I have around 10k in aftermarket stuff now and have a lot of stuff I want to do. It didnt start as a pulling truck it has just become one over time and now I wouldnt be able to get rid of it for anything close to what I have in it.

Well i still have everything to build a 6.4 from the ground up. Im just glad i wasnt relying on it though. My stroker kit for it still hasnt came in and i just hated to bring out a truck with all the money spent on a motor not knowing its potential or even knowing if it will stay together. but im not just gonna be pulling 2.6. i plan to pull 2.8 also. With some changes in tuning and swapping the turbo i could compete in pretty much any class. As far as spending that much it all adds up. Truck,Motor,Standalone,Danco transmission,Corsa data,Intellidash, and all the Driveline work. It doesnt take long to spend that kind of money

Any update on this build? I had heard that you were p-pumping the 6.4?

what????? this guy must be loaded. It would be totally cool to p pump a 6.4 but also totally stupid, same head design as the 6.0 your going to have to weld the head on,and thats really going to suck to grind the weld out after the heads crack. If your going to p pump a powerstroke use a 7.3 or maybe the 6.7

im not sure you should be pulling in 2.6 if you have a Corsa and intellidash maybe 2.8 or 3.0

Tyler D. sounds fimiliar, has he been around truck pulls prior to this truck he built? As far as the money goes who cares it is what it is whine cry do whatever but im here to tell you money DOES NOT BUILD A WINNING TRUCK set-up is what wins. Im sure TS will show this statement is true.

Money will build winning trucks. Watch the 3.0 class rod tarr doesnt touch his trucks and he has won the last 2 years at ts. I do decent for no more than i have in my truck but i have had my ass kicked by full built scheid trucks that go to scheid for an oil change. Money can get you whatever you want. I would say if he wins a big pull this year it proves your statement false.
Sometimes these 150k+ trucks are beat but i would say they do more winning than loseing

What do you want a cap on $ spent? It seems that is all you all complaining about?
Brandon

i could give a **** less what he spends on that truck i dont pull that class, but if you dont think just about anybody could take a long truck and a check to scheid and not have a winning truck your retarted. As far as set up im sure they have hitch heights and tire pressures figured out.
