Black Ice is getting dialed in for 2009!

I find it funny how you say my truck was illegal so they wouldn't let me pull with them. But my illegal truck whooped up on those legal trucks. If you would have left out the part I bolded I wouldn't have any problems with your post.

Why wouldn't you take off the outside dual and beat them fair and square? Then I would be congratulating you on the great hook!!

We gave them that option, and we were willing to help, but???

My take on it is he wanted a hook with the setup he competes with. Pulling the outer tire wouldn't show what he was looking for. Probably would have never got under the charger.

Just curious but what do they have agenst duel wheels?

Lynn

The original intent of the rule was the insurance did not want uncovered tires hanging outside the box. Yes, a real dually would of been fine a year or two ago, but to keep any complaining or issues from being brought up, we decided to prohibit dual tires all together.

Here is the rule in the general section at Home - Badger Truck Pullers Association

11. No trucks with dual wheels or chains allowed. Flatbeds allowed with thorough tech inspection.

Hope that answered your question.

Finally getting most of the bugs worked out of my truck, now I need to start getting my water injection dialed in.

Check out my BTPA hook from last night:
YouTube - Garrett Shields Challenge of Power BTPA Hook Friday Night 2009

BTPA had me pull exhibition because I run dual wheels. I still put 7 feet on their top truck though.

Should be a good year!

Garrett why come on here and say something like that??? Everyone said what you had to do to pull with us last nite you choosed not to and pulled exhibition. You could of join BTPA and failed tech for having duals or do what you did. Comeing on here and saying you put 7 feet on are top truck is kinda childish if you ask me. Yes they allowed you to pull last year but that was last year rules changed

I also had to pull exhibition with both trucks cause of dual wheels. I believe these were the final distances

Wes Kusilek big truck- 344ft
Garret black ice- 314 ft
mike red dmax-307
tim windal- 303
Wes kusilek little truck-300ft
Jason otto-297
john G dmax-294

not sure on the rest

Nice meeting yea last nite and damn your trucks run good

Jeff, I said nothing wrong nor offensive.

The only reason even came down was to get a hook on my new setup changes. Why would I pay to $125 to fail tech, and not be elgible to earn points OR $$ to place?

The rule DID NOT change from last year... rules that were changed were in red. Apparently only verbal rules changed.. They read the same last year.. and I pulled.. TWICE.

It doesn't matter anyways, Badger doesn't fit into my national pulling schedule. I am not going through all the BS of changing tires for one association and one hook..

I don't see you guys jumping Wesley's ass about leaving his tires on... and you wonder why I won't be pulling with Badger..

What a dumb rule.... NADM has no problems with duals. I guess that is the difference between brush pulls and national events.

Exactly!
Prior to the hook, I was told by 2 Badger members that duals were not discussed rules wise and that I should have no issues hooking with BTPA this year. I showed up with my duals and everybody threw a fit. So, I hooked exhibition and won't be back to another BTPA hook. It made a great test hook, and I'm not losing any sleep over it.

Right, but I asked about this rule at the 2008 spring rules meeting.. I MIGHT have been the 2007 fall meeting it was one or the other.
I asked if it was OK to run duals and they said it was fine. I asked about what it said in GENERAL rules and they said it didn't really apply to diesels.

So, I ran with Badger twice last year with duals with the General rules reading the same, but now this year it is a problem. Nice how an association can pick and choose which rules to enforce and when.

that is the dumbest rule, why would you want to limit the amount of competetors that would like to hook there dually? trucks come stock with dualls.

Badger and Fantasy have added the diesels to their gas truck pulling organizations. So the rules have been in there for years that the gas trucks could not run duals. So we and I think Badger also, have to live with abiding by some gas truck rules.

So I ask you all this question, Have any of you ever seen a gas pulling truck with duals? I mean a dually truck does come with the option of a gas motor.

The reason I didn't have an issue with Wes is he was not complaining about having to pull exhibition and then bragging in the next sentence that he beat "their best truck" by 7 feet. Wes just posted the results. I find it even better that Garrett never mentioned, I got beat for first place by almost 40 feet.

Jeremy, I didn't complain about having to pull exhibition. Its not a big deal, I just stated facts in my post.

Wesley's big truck will not make Badger rules by a long shot what with drop box, reverser, rockwell, etc. Not really a comparison, he came to run Exhibition, knowing that truck will NOT meet the rules.
I came to run with my truck exactly to Badger rules other than having 2 extra tires.

I said "their top truck", not EVERY truck.

Gotcha. No offense intended by what I posted, and I wasn't trying to come off arrogant either.

my understanding is to GENERAL rules is ALL trucks have to follow them thats why there GENERAL rules. As to last year that was last year. Every one in the diesel class came over by yours and wes truck and had a meeting about it and said no or take them off. And to you running duals last year at the 2 pulls you did you got beat but 20ft or so at one and not sure about the other did you come on here and say "truck ran good but got 4th or whatever and got 20ft or so put on me" nope you didnt but you came on here friday and said you put 7 feet on are top truck now thats childish.
